Cleveland Clinic’s Office of Civic Education’s Summer Internship Programs

Welcome to John Carroll University! We are so pleased that you are considering applying for JCU credit for your participation in the Cleveland Clinic’s Office of Civic Education’s Summer Internship Programs. These are exciting opportunities for you to work and learn alongside creative professionals and researchers at the Cleveland Clinic, and to receive college credit for your work.  By qualifying for this unique program, you have distinguished yourself as a young scholar. John Carroll is very excited to partner with you and the Office of Civic Education and offer John Carroll University undergraduate elective credit for this innovative and academically stimulating learning experience.  Congratulations and best wishes for an exciting summer experience.

 

A VISIT TO THE JCU CAMPUS
Students receiving JCU credit will be expected to participate in an on-campus event on June 29, 2009 from 6 - 8pm.

This event for students and parents will include a tour of the JCU campus, a lab experience in one of our state of the art lab facilities in the Dolan Center for Science and Technology, and dinner with JCU faculty and administrators.

ADMISSION CRITERIA

Students seeking admission to John Carroll University’s PSEO should meet or exceed the following criteria:

  • 3.0 cumulative high school grade point average based on a 4.0 scale;
  • Mastery of introductory college core curriculum;
  • An ACT composite score of 23 or combined SAT score of 1070;
  • A “B” average or better in a similar high school course prior to enrolling in a college course in the same subject area.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Students seeking admission to John Carroll University’s PSEO Program are responsible for submitting the following application materials by the deadline date:

  • PSEOP Application
  • PSEOP Counselor/Principal Recommendation Form
  • Official High School Transcript (received in a sealed envelope)
  • ACT or SAT scores.

Return ALL of the PSEOP application materials at one time in a single envelope. Please provide your counselor or principal a business sized envelope for your letter of recommendation, official SAT/ACT scores, and official transcripts. Counselor or principal should sign his or her name over the seal on the back of the envelope and return to you. All materials should be mailed to:
