Beth Ann Martin is Interim Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, a well as Professor of Psychology at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio.  Dr. Martin earned her B.A. in Psychology from the Department of Psychological Studies at Purdue University in W. Lafayette, Indiana in 1976, her M.S. from the Department of Child Development and Family Studies at Purdue University in 1977, and her Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the Department of Psychological Sciences at Purdue University in W. Lafayette, Indiana in 1982. 

Her research interests have focused in three main areas: performance management systems and market orientation, faking on occupational personality questionnaires, and goal setting. Her most current research has investigated the development of linkages between performance management systems and market orientation in small and mid-sized organizations. Dr. Martin has published her research in several journals including International Journal of Occupational Behavior, Personality and Individual Differences, Academy of Educational Leadership Journal, Human Performance, Journal of Managerial Issues, Journal of Management, and Organizational Behavior and Human Performance. In addition she has been a member of several professional organizations, including the American Psychological Association, the American Psychological Society, the Society for Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and the Academy of Management. 

While at John Carroll, Dr. Martin has been a faculty member of the Department of Psychology for 19 years and Chair of the Department of Psychology for 2.5 years. She has served on many committees including the University Planning Group, the JCCI Development Committee, the Faculty Board of Review, Chair of the Sexual Harassment Board, and Advisor to the Staff/Administrator Handbook Taskforce. In addition, she has served as an expert witness in over 20 age, race and sex employment discrimination cases. 

Before joining John Carroll University in 1986, Dr. Martin was a faculty member in both the Department of Psychology and the Division of Business and Economics at the University of Wisconsin in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.
