Climate Change and Social Justice
|
| |
What we do within the next 10 years about climate change has consequences that will last the rest of our lives and beyond. Because climate change compounds the problems of the world’s poor, we can be nearly certain that we are heading into times of more poverty, more disease, and more instability. This course focuses on the responsibility of the world’s wealthiest nations, who are largely responsible for greenhouse gas emissions, to the world’s most needy citizens who will bear most heavily the burdens of climate change. Students will study the causes and effects of human induced climate change and the political, social and economic context of proposed solutions. |
