International Business Interdisciplinary Concentration
This concentration is designed to enrich Boler School of Business majors (Accountancy, Bachelor of Science in Economics, Business Information Systems, Business Logistics, Finance, Management, Marketing) who are considering opportunities in the international dimensions of business. In the tradition of liberal arts education, the International Business Concentration offers students an opportunity for cross-fertilization between the science of business and the art of language and culture. Students who complete this concentration are equipped not only to understand the international business environment, but also to work effectively in it. They can begin careers directly upon graduation, or go on to do graduate work in business.
In addition to satisfying all requirements for a degree from the Boler School of Business, students must complete three courses from the following list, no two of which may be from the same area, and none of which may be used to satisfy major requirements:
EC342 – International Economics
EC343 – Economic Development
EC352 – Comparative Economic
Systems
FN439 – International Business
Finance
LG361 – Global Logistics
MK361 – Multinational Marketing
MN361 – Global Management
Students must also demonstrate foreign language proficiency determined by John Carroll University foreign language courses numbered 301-302 or through consultation with the Coordinator of Student Services in the Department of Classical and Modern Languages and Cultures.
