Discussion Questions Relating to Ethics

  1. Ransom, the Lady, and Weston each use different models for ethical decision making. What model does each one use? Using examples of where each of them is at work, what are the key questions being asked and the key characteristics of the ethical choices which are made in each case?
  2. How does his series of ethical choices change Ransom as a person? How does his series of choices change Weston? How fundamental are these changes, i.e., do Ransom and/or Weston change who they ARE as a result of these choices?
  3. How would Lewis define "salvation"? How does it work? What is the significance of human endeavor?
  4. What kind of God inhabits this story? Does Lewis have a theology of grace? What evidence can you give for your view?
