He Spoke in Parables

1. The parable of the sower may reflect Jesus' own experience in preaching the reign of God, as well as the advice Jesus gave to disciples. Does this parable show that Jesus is optimistic or pessimistic about the results of preaching? How? Why?
2. Why did Jesus use parables, according to Mk 4:10-12? Do you think this gives the purpose or the result of the use of parables? (cf. Mk 4:21-25)
