A judge’s decision should be based on:
- Skill in analysis
- Proposition
- Debate
- Use of evidence
- Referring to source
- Sufficient evidence
- Validity of Argument
- Clarity of organization
- Adequacy of rebuttal
- Effectiveness of delivery
During a debate, a team can be penalized for:
- An unfair interpretation
- Discourtesy toward opponents
- Falsification of evidence
- Misconstruing an opponent's argument
- Introducing new argument into the rebuttal
- Speaking overtime
