Going 'beyond words'

Dr. Roark presents a study of how a writer explores art or music to express something that is "beyond words."

Chris Roark explores the connection between the writing of John Wideman and the sculpture of Alberto Giacometti.
In the Spring semester (2006) I participated in the "Celebration of Scholarship," an annual event at John Carroll in which both faculty members and students present highlights from their academic work. I took my presentation from my research on writers who leave their own medium to explore art and music in order to express something that is "beyond words."
