Diana Yeongchau Chou is assistant professor of art history. She teaches Survey of Asian Art, Art of Japan, Art of China, and Chinese Painting. Her research interests include the art-collecting culture in the 13th and 14th century in China and Japan, bird-and-flower subjects in Yuan painting, Chinese painting theories, Chinese women artists, and the exchanges of art and commerce between China and other nations or cultures from the 10th century and beyond.

Susan Orpett Long is professor of anthropology and currently serves as the coordinator of East Asian Studies. She teaches introductory anthropology, courses on East Asian cultures, sex and gender, medicine and culture, social change, and health and healing in East Asia. Her research interests include comparative medical systems, family change, care of the elderly, women's lives, and the cross-cultural study of bioethical issues.

John C. Soper is the John J. Kahl, Sr., Chair in Entrepreneurship and Professor of Economics. He teaches the Principles of Microeconomics (and Macroeconomics), Money & Banking, and the Economic History of the U.S. Thus far, his East Asian experience is limited to China and South Korea, but there is always time for more travel in the area! He has lived and taught in Oslo, Norway, and has traveled widely in Western Europe.
