Q. Does John Carroll offer an Honors Program?
A. Yes, John Carroll offers an Honors Program. The program is intended to benefit students of high ability, encouraging them to expand and amplify their educational experience, to integrate their learning, to seek and respond to intellectual challenge, to think critically and clearly, and to develop early an interest in graduate or professional studies. The Honors Program offers a flexible program of study designed for outstanding students and includes seminars, honors courses and special programs to encourage students to learn, to serve and to achieve excellence. To be considered for acceptance into the Honors Program, first-year students should have SAT scores of 650 or more on all three components or ACT composite score of 30 or higher and rank in the top 7% of your high school class with a 3.5 or higher grade-point average in college-prep courses.

A. John Carroll operates on a semester calendar, with two 15-week semesters and three summer sessions.

Q. Must I have a computer to attend JCU?
A. No, students are not required to have their own computers. However, many students do bring their own, and the residence hall rooms all offer phone lines with voice mail, cable TV, and multiple computer connections for students who bring their own computers. Wireless access to the JCU network is also available throughout the entire campus. To access resources on the JCU Network, students will need a windows capable computer with a 10/100 Base-T Ethernet and/or wireless network interface card. Before purchasing a new computer, please consult the information services web site for the most current system recommendations.

Q. Does John Carroll offer study-abroad opportunities?    
A. Yes, John Carroll offers study-abroad opportunities through the Center for Global Education. The Center for Global Education administers study abroad and exchange programs, advises students who wish to study abroad, provides services for international students, and supports international-related programming across campus. John Carroll students enhance their educations by studying abroad on every continent, in places as close to home as Mexico and as far away as New Zealand.
