Q. Are there clubs and organizations to join?
A. John Carroll University offers over 80 different types of clubs and organizations. From athletics, academic clubs, service organizations, campus radio and TV stations, honorary societies, campus ministry, student government, The Carroll News student newspaper, and Greek life, JCU offers something for everyone. Q. What about fraternities and sororities?
A. The university offers five national sororities and three national fraternities. The sororities are: Chi Omega, Gamma Phi Beta, Kappa Alpha Theta, Kappa Delta, and Kappa Kappa Gamma. The fraternities are: Delta Tau Delta, Kappa Sigma, and Sigma Phi Epsilon. Approximately 25% of the student body is involved in fraternity and sorority life. See what it's all about here.

Q. How does one get around Cleveland?
A. Cleveland offers the RTA (Rapid Transit Authority), which is the rail system for the city. Two stops in the eastern suburbs are minutes from campus, and this system includes stops at various points throughout the city, including Cleveland Hopkins International airport.

Q. How far is JCU to the airport?
A. JCU's campus is located approximately 45 minutes away from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and about 75 minutes away from the Akron/Canton Airport.

Q. Does JCU provide transportation to the airport?
A. Student Union runs a shuttle van for current students to and from the airport by appointment.

Q. Are there places to eat, shop, and socialize near campus?
A. John Carroll is not only located 10 miles outside of downtown Cleveland, but we are surrounded by an eclectic mix of vibrant communities. There are plenty of places to have fun and unwind within walking distance of campus. To find out more, check out the Our City page on this site.

Q. Can I have a car on campus freshman year?
A. No, freshmen are not able to have cars on campus. There is a lottery for 100 spaces available for sophomores. The university does run free shuttles to many of the shopping centers and malls throughout the area for students who do not have the means to get there.
