Campus Life

Getting Involved

Are you looking for ways to connect with friends outside the classroom? Do you want to find ways to contribute to a fun and active campus community? Would you like to improve your grades while meeting fabulous people? Getting and staying involved can help you do all of those things! "Involvement" is defined as any activity outside the classroom which enhances and contributes to student learning. Being involved can take many forms, from being a member of a student club or organization to participating in a research project with a faculty member, participating in a retreat or an immersion experience or volunteering at a local social service agency. Find something you are passionate or curious about and share your time and talents with the organization. You'll feel more connected to JCU and the organization will also benefit from your gifts and skills!

Find out many of the awesome ways to get involved, including information on our nearly 100 student organizations, by visiting the Getting Involved website.

Residence Life

Hanging out with friends, late night discussions, rolling out of bed to get to class, jumping into a pick-up basketball game...students who live on campus during their college careers are more satisfied with their college experiences and more likely to be involved in campus life such as intramurals and community service, perform better than those who live off campus, and persist until graduation. The residence halls at John Carroll University provide more than just a room in which to study and sleep. The community living environment enhances your education by providing experiences to teach you important life skills such as communication, problem solving, and decision making.

Athletics & Recreation

The Department of Athletics & Recreation at John Carroll University is committed to a broad-based program of competitive excellence for all students and student-athletes. Administrators, coaches and staff are dedicated to supporting each student's journey toward academic, athletic, and recreational success. Influenced by Jesuit values, student-athlete development is accomplished through quality coaching, adequate resources, and an environment that fosters personal growth.

The Department offers 21 varsity men's and women's sports at the NCAA Division III level, 12 club sports, intramurals in 14 categories, and a host of recreational and fitness opportunities. Want to cheer on the Blue Streaks? Students receive free admission to every home regular season sporting event, so show your blue and gold pride!

To see all the department has to offer, visit the Athletics & Recreation website.

We have the Office of Academic Advising, Office of Multicultural Affairs, Office of Services for Students with Disabilities, the Writing Center, and many more ways for you to feel connected on campus academically or socially.
