Transient or Transfer Credit (Post-Secondary Enrollment Options)

Q:  Will I receive college credit for a class that I completed a local college while in high school?

A: Yes.  Contact the college’s or university’s Registrar’s office. Request that they send an official transcript to John Carroll University’s Admissions Office.  When your official transcript arrives, the Registrar’s Office will evaluate your courses and you will receive Transfer Credit Evaluation. The Transfer Credit Evaluation will include courses you have taken and John Carroll University’s equivalencies for those courses. Your faculty advisor or the Academic Advising Office will answer any questions you might have concerning how the transfer credit will apply toward your degree requirements.

Q: Will my transcripts be sent automatically to John Carroll University?

A: No. You will need to request a transcript from the college or university that you attended.  Request that they send your transcript directly to John Carroll University, Admissions Office. Once the transcript is received the Office of Admissions will send a Transfer Credit Evaluation of your work.
