Ohio Grants
Ohio Academic Scholarship Program
This competitive, merit based scholarship provides financial assistance to Ohio’s most academically outstanding high school graduate. Usually one scholarship is awarded per Ohio high school. Eligibility is determined by test scores and GPA. The application is available through your high school guidance counselor. Awards for the 2007-2008 academic year were $2205 per year and are renewable for an additional three years.
Ohio War Orphans Scholarship Program
This grant is available to children of deceased or severely injured veterans who served in a period of war or conflict. The student must be under 21, an Ohio resident and enrolling as a full time undergraduate student. The Ohio Board of Regents will provide the application which must be returned by July 1st. For the 2007-2008 academic year grants were awarded at $5100 per year and are renewable.
Ohio National Guard Scholarship Program
This grant is available to eligible Ohio National Guard recipients who are enrolled at least half time. The application deadline is July 1st. The award for the 2006-2007 academic year was $8026 for full time students. Please see www.ongsp.org for more information.
Pennsylvania Grants
Pennsylvania Residents Only
Pennsylvania State Grant
Pennsylvania residents who attend John Carroll may be able to use their Pennsylvania State Grant in Ohio. The amounts vary from $200 thru $600 per year and are based on full time attendance.
