Collegiate License Plates

What shows your John Carroll pride wherever you drive, is more permanent than a bumper sticker and has more presence than a window decal? A John Carroll University collegiate license plate! Plates are available to individuals owning a qualified motor vehicle registered in Ohio.

In Ohio, any motor vehicle classified as a passenger vehicle, non-commercial truck or motor home is eligible, and they may be issued to any Ohio motorist. You do not need to be an alumni of John Carroll University to acquire the Collegiate Plates. The vehicle must be titled or leased in the name of the person applying for the plates.

These plates cost $35.00 annually, in addition to your normal registration fees. This fee is determined by Ohio Revised Code 4503.51. A portion of the fees collected ($25.00) is deposited into the Alumni Association's Scholarship Fund, which awards up to four $2,000 scholarships annually to children of alumni with un-met need. This portion may be tax-deductible. Check with a tax advisor. Part of your current registration fees may be applied toward the purchase of special plates; your billing notice will show all ADDITIONAL fees to process the special plates.

You may also personalize your Collegiate Plates with up to six letters or numbers.
