Meeting Notes

February 20, 2003

In attendance: Maryann (Bjelopera) Stropkay, Vinnie Close, Brian Glowe, Elizabeth (Gallagher) Higgins (via teleconference), John Hogan (via teleconference), Gretchen Heutsche (via teleconference), Anne-Marie (Wolanin) Connors, and Bob Castagnero and Rosalie Massey.

The Reunion program was reviewed. The class picnic will be held behind Campion Hall. Due to the construction going on at the football stadium, you will have to access the picnic area from the north, as opposed to going between the arches.

The February newsletter was going to the printers shortly.

Discussion continued on whether or not we want to have a program during our Saturday night dinner. It was decided we would, and Anne-Marie, Gretchen and Elizabeth will head up the committee to work on the program.

The "93 Days 'Til Reunion" party, will be held on Thursday, March 13. The only city holding a party looks like it will be Cleveland, and it will be at the Flat Iron Cafe in the Flats, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The committee also discussed, and tabled for further discussion at a later meeting, whom we would like to invite (faculty, staff, etc.) to have dinner with our class at the Saturday night dinner.

Brian Glowe and Mary Ann will be working on coordinating the calling list. Rosalie mentioned that phone cards and note cards are available for anyone who needs them. The list will be divided amongst the committee members to each call 25-30 classmates. Mary Ann will contact Andy Botzer to see who the gift committee has contacted so far, so as not to reproduce any work already done.

The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 3, at 6:30 p.m. in the Alumni Office, 3rd floor of Rodman Hall. Refreshments and dinner will be served. This will be primarily a calling night.

January 16, 2003

In attendance: Maryann (Bjelopera) Stropkay, Vinnie Close, Craig Frabotta, Brian Glowe, Tim Jewett (via teleconference), Becky (Powers) Dinnen (via teleconference), Julie (Smith) Castagnero, and Bob Castagnero and Rosalie Massey.

The Reunion program was reviewed. The class picnic will once again be held, but it will most likely be called a family picnic, to encourage families and children to attend.

Rosalie reported that 29 bios have been received so far for the class directory, the most of any class. Bios are due no later than February 21.

The February newsletter is being finalized, and should be going to the printers shortly.

Discussion started on whether or not we want to have a program during our Saturday night dinner. We will continue this discussion at future meetings. A lot will depend on whether anyone would want to sit through a program regardless of how short it would be, and logistically, is it even feasible.

Plans are being made for a "93 Days 'Til Reunion" party, to be held on Thursday, March 13, in various cities in the U.S. Rosalie will begin working to secure locations, times and what will be offered.

The committee also discussed, and tabled for further discussion at a later meeting, whom we would like to invite (faculty, staff, etc.) to have dinner with our class at the Saturday night dinner.

Mary Ann Stropkay was voted to be the reader for the Moment of Remembrance for our class at the Saturday afternoon Class Mass.

Brian Glowe and Mary Ann will be working on coordinating the calling list. Rosalie mentioned that phone cards and note cards are available for anyone who needs them. The list will be divided amongst the committee members to each call 25-30 classmates.

The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 20, at 6:30 p.m. in the Alumni Office, 3rd floor of Rodman Hall. Refreshments and dinner will be served.

December 3, 2002

In attendance: Vinnie Close, Becky (Powers) Dinnen, Andy Botzer (via teleconference), and Bob Castagnero and Rosalie Massey.

Vinnie Close again went over the basic Reunion Weekend flow and the committee responsibilities, for those who weren't at the previous meeting. It was decided to hold the "Brats and Beer" picnic as our class activity (if there are any objections to this as our class activity, please contact Vinnie Close so we can have discussions on this at future meetings). The location is still up in the air, as football stadium construction may prevent us from holding it behind Campion Hall as we did 5 years ago. The final location may not be determined until a few weeks before Reunion begins.

Vinnie also discussed the monthly newsletters, which have already gone out to some classes. The newsletters, produced by the Alumni Office, will contain information about each class, list who is coming, and other pertinent information.

Rosalie discussed the Class Directory, which will be given out to all alums who attend Reunion. A questionnaire for the directory will be mailed in early January. You will also be able to fill out the questionnaire on-line at the Reunion Weekend site.

Bob and Andy updated everyone on the progress of the gift committee, which will begin making calls shortly.

The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 16 at 6:30 p.m. in the Alumni Office, 3rd floor of Rodman Hall. Refreshments and dinner will be served.

October 24, 2002

In attendance: Maryann (Bjelopera) Stropkay, Vinnie Close, and Bob Castagnero and Rosalie Massey.

Vinnie Close went over the basic Reunion Weekend flow and the responsibilities of the committee, which will be focused on attendance. There was also discussion on the class activity, which will most likely be a repeat of the "Brats and Beer" picnic from 5 years ago. The event was the most-attended event in Reunion history, and was very well-received by all who attended.

The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the Alumni Office, 3rd floor of Rodman Hall. Refreshments and dinner will be served.

September 21 , 2002

In attendance: Vinnie Close, Karen (D'Angelo) Jewett, Lisa Dy, Brian Glowe, Becky (Powers) Dinnen, and Tim Jewett.

This meeting during Homecoming Weekend introduced the Alumni Office staff that will be helping out the committees during the coming year. Committee handbooks were handed out, and duties of committee members were explained.

The main goal of the committee was explained as getting classmates back to campus for Reunion. While there are other responsibilities, the main goal should be to get people back on campus.

Class lists were handed out, and committee members were encouraged to go through them and make and address corrections that they knew about.

The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 24 at 7:00 p.m. in the Alumni Office, 3rd floor of Rodman Hall. Refreshments and dinner will be served.
