Class Notes - Summer, 2000

Hello everyone. Here we are, embarking on the summer. As many of you can probably guess, I am looking forward to it as the new baby is due any day, so I'm anticipating spending a relaxing summer at home. Obviously, those of you that already have children know that I am dreaming also. Let's get right to the news ... Vicki Mattlin contacted me directing to notify me of her marriage to our fellow alum Marc DuBay on May 13 of this year. They are living Aurora, OH and Marc works as an account representative for Stuart Dean Company, Inc. Best of luck to both of you and thanks for calling, Vicki . . .

Mark Schreiner is the assistant city editor for the Wilmington Star-News, Inc. a subsidiary of the New York Time's Co. On February 14 Mark was recognized with a "Chairman's Award" from Arthur O. Sulzberger, Jr., chairman of The New York Times, for writing a newspaper article about the life & death of an American infantryman killed in France during WWII. Mark is contemplating writing a book about the soldier's story. Congratulations and go for it on the book . . . Fred Vitug received his master's of education from Cleveland State University and is a teacher for the Cleveland Schools . . .

Jenifer Williams is living in Watertown, MA and will be starting her Ph.D. at Cornell University in the fall in the uses and effects of media. Jen received a research assistantship to work with a well-respected media studies lab, the Human Computer Interaction Group . . . John Cilli is president of auctionholdings.com, Inc. and living in Pittsburgh . . . Dan Hanson is serving as an active duty Army Officer in Seoul, South Korea. He is a military intelligence captain. He successfully completed a company command and is now serving on the Theater Joint Staff. Dan has been selected to be a "foreign area officer" and will begin training next year in Korean and Japanese languages and go to graduate school in the U.S. Afterwards, he will serve as a "defense liaison officer at the US Embassies in either Seoul or Tokyo . . .

Brian Archdeacon has his master's in statistics from Miami of Ohio and is working as a pricing analyst for Grange Mutual Insurance in Columbus, OH  . . . Andrea (Grilli) Ciulli and her husband, Nick '92, welcomed Anthony Nicholas into their lives last August 8. He was born 2 months early and weighed 4 lbs. 10 oz. Nick is teaching at Valley Forge High School and is also a defensive coordinator for their football team. Andrea is working part time for a doctor in Strongsville . . .

Sarah Swingle is living in Lakewood, OH and is human resource manager for Progressive . . . Kiersten Dougherty earned her master's in telecommunications from the University of Pittsburgh in May 1999. She is working as a software QA engineer for Marconi Communications and living in Pittsburgh . . . Jill (Wagner) Amolsch and spouse, Kevin, had a baby girl on January 16, Molly Moran was born 2 months early and weighed 3 lbs. 8 oz.; all are doing well now. They are living in Shaker Heights and Jill is working for Gunton Corporation in customer service . . .

Andrew Botzer is a national sales manager for BankWare and is living in Birmingham, AL . . . Tammie (Shields) Becker and husband, Rob, welcomed daughter Madalyn Rae on March 2, 8 lbs. 11 oz. The Beckers live in Columbus, OH . . . Sarah Drickhamer is living and working in Denver, CO; she works as a loan originator at AmTrust Financial Services, Inc . . . Gretchen Heutsche recently finished her residency in Cleveland and is now a Doctor of Podiatry and has moved to Columbus to join a practice. Good luck, Gretchen . . .
