Class Notes - Winter, 1996

Homecoming was a good time again this year.  Seems there weren't as many from the Class of '93 in attendance as there has been in the past.  A lot of the same familiar faces were there and even though I'd like to mention everyone's name, I've only got so much space, so I'll just write what's new or different.  Matt McCurdy married Angela Martin '94 this summer; they are living in Michigan where Matt is a financial analyst for an auto parts company . . . Harold and Jennie '94 Aubry just moved into their newly-built home in Michigan the weekend before homecoming, and they now have two new puppies under 5 months old . . . Though she could not make it to the festivities, Tammie Shields became engaged to her boyfriend, Robby, and they are planning a July wedding . . .

Jan (Huczko) Vulku wrote to me via the Internet; she and Mike were married in June and bought a house in Rocky River.  Mike is a broker for Olde and Jan is an account executive at Wyse Advertising.  They see fellow JCU'ers all the time . . . Diann Dellafiora is currently teaching kindergarten here in Cleveland . . . Donna Lucente is producing videos for MRI . . . Liz Gallagher relocated to Chicago to work for Andersen Consulting . . . Rose Casciano is working for Progressive Insurance Co. and living in Mayfield Heights with Lori Souser . . . Sarah Swingle who moved back to Cleveland last year is also working at Progressive . . . And last but not least from Jan, Kristy Kelley is currenly working as a counselor in Cleveland Heights.  Thanks so much for writing, Jan, and giving me the scoop on our classmates . . .

Michael Dagon e-mailed me recently.  He is an art historian, living in L.A. on Brentwood just down the street from O.J.'s house, where there are still thousands that come to see his house and try to catch a glimpse.  He has finished his graduate internship with the J. Paul Getty Museum in Malibu, California and they asked him to stay on staff full time at the museum.  Mike has started on-going tours at the museum entitled, "The Splendors of Venice" in which he brings visitors to the museum to see the masterpieces of Ventian paintings in the museum collection. Mike asks that if any fellow JCU alumni are in L.A. to call the museum and he'll be happy to take you around.  Mike is also working on getting a couple articles published; one includes his research on Italian stained glass, and the other concerns a Renaissance painting in the Getty museum.  Lastly, Mike and a friend of his have started a travel company called "Cultural Tours of Italy".  It is still in the early stages, but is meant to give people a serious in-depth tour of the rich cultural history of Italy.  Thanks for writing, Mike, and keep up the good work . . .

Debbie (Rak) Zanner wrote me a short note; she married Kurt right after graduation in 1993 and moved to New Hampshire for a year. They moved back to Cleveland and have just bought a house in Bay Village and there's a dog named Frankie to go with it. Her twin, Denise, is living in North Ridgeville, and works in sales for a company called Profound. She covers the Midwest selling on-line market research information . . . Laura (Napoli) Kelly was married to Edward '91 in November 1995, and they have recently moved to Culver, Indiana, where Ed accepted a position at Culver Military Academy to teach a freshman humanities course and coach football . . . Scott '92 and Maggie (Dwyer) Niedzwiecki just moved in to a new house in Painesville, Ohio, and are expecting their first child.  Maggie is a kindergarted teacher at Perry Elementary . . . James Spitznagel was engaged to his high school sweetheart, Roseann Adamo '95, in May and they are planning their wedding for July 19 . . .

Lots of people ask me what I am doing these days, so let me give you a brief update.  I am still working at Ford Motor Credit co. as a customer service representative.  I've been married now for over a year to Dennis Reardon, who works for Price Waterhouse as a consultant and is currently working on a project in Cleveland.  We own a condo in Parma, Ohio, and have a puppy named Scout who will be a year old on December 26 . . . Well, that is all the news this time around.  It seems to me that our class is doing great out there in the real world.  Take Care . . . Julie.
