Here’s the latest: Pete Sheehan is in ‘reunion mode,’ contacting and encouraging classmates to attend our 30th Reunion and bringing up memories like watching the Little Theatre production “Dracula” our freshman year. National Review Online, December issue, featured Pete’s article “ Merry Christmas – happy holidays.” ... Debi, John Bundra’s spouse, reports of the celebrations of their daughter Rebecca’s June wedding in Dublin, Ireland, and post wedding party in the U.S. Attendees included Mary Bundra Hall ’79 and Debbie and John Sideras. The Bundras have two other daughters – Samantha (Marquette U alum) and Angela (Loyola University Chicago student). ... Thank you to Bob Keir ’77 for passing along the news about the passing of our classmate Rick Seiple. Rick died in January 2004 in Hubbard, Ohio, of stomach cancer. John Tepfenhart was recently named partner at ka architecture in Cleveland, a commercial architectural firm. John and wife Lisa celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary with daughters Alyssa (13) and Emma (12). The Tepfenharts live in Broadview Heights, Ohio. ... Paul Carney is professor and chief of the Wilder Chair for Epilepsy Research in the Division of Pediatric Neurology at the University of Florida. Paul and spouse Lucia (Manubens) ’79 live in Gainesville with daughters Paulina (19) and Constanza (17), both attending the University of Florida. Paul has an MD degree from Valparaiso University. He hopes to attend the June Reunion and catch up with our classmates. ... Maria Gonzalez hopes to convince Tere Castro Tomec and Beth Scriven to join her at our 30th Reunion in June. Maria has been living in Orlando for the past four years. She’s pursuing an MBA while managing Professional Testing and enjoys her family (one daughter is an architect, one is an entrepreneur and mother to Maria’s ‘gorgeous grandson’). Maria’s hobbies include sports, swimming and dancing. ... In between wrapping up a school year in Thailand and a trip to his home in Latrobe, Pa., Rob Herald plans to be under our ’78 Reunion tent in June. | fall 2007 | Greetings! As we look forward to our 30th reunion June 20-22, 2008, here’s the latest: Bruce Luecke looks forward to seeing everyone at our reunion. He and spouse Mimi ’80 are empty nesters with kids at the University of Dayton, Xavier University and the oldest working in New York. Bruce left his consulting business a year ago and joined Nationwide Insurance to build a new bank. ... John Baran is set for Reunion Weekend. He returned to IBM in 2005 after leaving it in 1981. John has two kids in college (Bowling Green and U of Toledo Nursing School) and two in the real world; his oldest daughter Audrey was married in August in Annapolis. John and spouse Kathy moved to Ligonier, PA, out in the country in July, very close to the historic Fort Ligonier. Two years ago, John organized a Circle K 40 year reunion (cocktail party, football tailgate party and dinner dance). John played golf on Homecoming Weekend with fellow reunion committee member Mark McGinley. ... Jack Blackburn, Dan Weitzel and Kevin McCarthy talked up reunion while golfing at Brian Farrell’s annual golf outing in October. Jack attended JCU’s Parents Weekend and caught up with Oz (Dave Briggs)…Rich Kenney, John Martin and Ray Dalessandro are also looking forward to our 30th Reunion in June. Rich is director of sales Ohio Valley Region for Kuehne + Nagel Inc. and travels the world. The Kenneys have two daughters (Emily at Bowling Green, Molly a junior at Rocky River H.S.); Rich enjoyed the great run of the Cleveland Indians this season. ... Bill Peruzzi is looking forward to Reunion Weekend. Bill is returning to Chicago after 2½ years in Houston as chief medical officer at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center. Bill’s will be with Wit/Kieffer to work in the area of academic healthcare executive recruiting (in the Midwest and East Coast). ... Joanie Carroll Snyder misses her long time friend and classmate Sue Leopold. Joanie is looking forward to seeing all at reunion weekend. She and spouse George have three sons (Steve, graduate school; Kevin, post-college; and Alan, high school). Besides working with George in their business, GL Resources, Joanie is treasurer of a Youth Development Program, Sunday church lector and is coordinator of the parish’s Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) Committee. ... For the third time in her life, Grace Carroll has moved to China. Grace will be teaching English through Maryknoll’s China Service Project at Northeastern University in Shenyang, Liaoning Province. She took courses in Chinese at JCU this past year from Professor Man-Lih Chai. The past five years Grace worked as a live-in assistant at L’Arche Cleveland. L’Arche is an international federation of communities where people with and without disabilities live together in loving homes. Grace will be competing with Rob Herald for the farthest to travel to our 30th Reunion. | summer 2007 | Greetings! Plan to make our 30th reunion June 20-22, 2008! Here’s the latest: Bernie (Fragle) DeMartinis and spouse Raymond live in Farrell, PA. Last year, Bernie started working for the Farrell Area School District in many capacities -- with sixth grade students in reading and math, with students in grades 3-6 as an advanced academic focus facilitator in the school’s after school program and as a tutor. Daughter Gabi is moving to Orlando, FL, to attend school for fashion design and marketing. Son Michael is in New Zealand working in the wine industry and husband Raymond is busy with his landscaping business and his bocce game! Bernie says hello to classmates Tere Castro Tomec and Mary McCue. ... Laura and Jack Blackburn’s son, Dan, is a freshman at JCU. Jack enjoyed visiting with Fr. Bichl and Dr. Frank Navratil during Dan’s freshman orientation. ... Pat (Carson) Larson lives in Bangor, ME, with husband Aron. Pat is a medical biller for an ophthalmology group, and Aron is a master electrician. Son Andy is a flight attendant instructor for GoJet Airlines in St. Louis. Pat has Iraq Army veterans as a stepson and stepson-in-law -- Byron is a purple heart recipient from severe injuries suffered after being hit by an RPG in Iraq; he is a recruiter and doing well; Chris came home ‘relatively unscathed except for a few scorpion stings and a much matured attitude.’ ... Pete Sheehan has lived on Long Island for 20 years. Pete has been married 12 years to Mary, a registered dietician. They have two sons: Joseph (10) and Michael (7). Pete is senior reporter for The Long Island Catholic, the biggest weekly U.S. Catholic paper; he also does freelance writing, mostly in the Catholic press. Pete keeps in touch with classmate Mary Egan and many of his IPT brothers. He’d like to hear from Jim Gentile, Earl William Hamlin III, Paul Giba, Kevin Leonard, Bob Kelsey, Mark Harrington, Nick Potonak, Pat O’Connor, and Mike May. ... Mark Harrington is director of human resources and machining group operations for Sandusky International (design and make machine components for paper making industry) in Sandusky, Oh. Mark has enjoyed some of the work travel (U.K. and South Africa), volunteer coaches soccer for Edison High School and still plays softball. Mark and spouse Kim (a Bowling Green alumna) have seven children: five girls (Bridget, Mary, Abby, Kit, Meghan) and two boys (James and Michael). Mary graduated from John Carroll in May (another Political Science graduate in the family). She is currently working at Taft Law Firm in Cleveland. Jimmy is a biology/chemistry major and is a junior at JCU. He worked last summer as an orderly at Firelands Regional Medical Center emergency room. Bridget graduated from Bowling Green State University last year, and Abby plans to attend BGSU next year. The Harringtons will wait and see how the other three sort out their choices for higher education. ... Jim Gentile is touring college with daughter Erika. Jim mentioned that colleges like FSU and UF don’t compare in guidance counseling to his JCU experience with Casey Bukala, SJ, ’54. Jim, spouse Karla and kids Erika, Jimmy and twins Andrea and Gabrielle (10) live in South Florida. Jim works for Motorola (since 1979) and entertained classmate Brian Farrell during this past year’s Super Bowl. Jim keeps in touch with Judge Bob Belanger ’81 and Anne ’79 and Tim Bailey. Here’s the latest from our classmates: Greg DiCillo is founding partner of Life Cycle Strategies, Inc. which is a consulting and training firm specializing in product management and planning. The firm began nine years ago, working with industrial and business to business companies throughout the United States and in Europe. Greg’s been enjoying the trips to UK, Germany, and Italy. He and spouse Tina celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary last July. The DiCillos live in Willoughby and have three children -- Michelle recent graduate of Kent State University, Brian currently training for EMT and ultimately Fire Academy, and youngest Kenneth is a sophomore at Willoughby South High School. Greg is still working on his golf game as well. ... Tom Keir has been married to Beth Friedel ’80 for 25 years. The Keirs have two boys -- Cameron, a freshman at Ohio Northern University, and Evan, a freshman at Brecksville-Broadview High School. Beth is a fourth grade teacher in Brecksville, OH. Tom has been with the Lubrizol Corporation for 27 years and is the Global Business director of a business that sells specialty chemicals into the civil explosives industry. Tom has traveled to over 25 countries including South Africa, China, Russia, all over Europe, Latin America and Australia. Tom gets a great perspective about a country, seeing their beautiful cities as well as the “interior” or rural regions where customers are usually located. He keeps in touch with Mark McGinley and Ray Dalessandro, Mike Keresman ’79 and Tom Kaiser ’79. Tom would like to hear from Dan Patalita, Rich Seiple and John Baran. ... John Bundra and his wife, Debi, have been married for 27 years and this summer will be celebrating the marriage of their oldest daughter to Sean Mullen in Dublin, Ireland. ... Jeff Shibley expands his business once again. Yours Truly Restaurants has announced plans to open its eighth restaurant at 8111 Rockside Road (near the I-77 exit at Rockside). Slated to open this summer, Yours Truly will seat 100 guests and, like many other Yours Truly locations, will offer patio seating for seasonal outdoor dining. Jeff and his siblings opened the first Yours Truly location in Beachwood in 1981. Last year, the readers of Northern Ohio Live magazine voted Yours Truly “Best Breakfast Menu,” “Best Cheap Eats,” and “Best Place to Take Kids.” Cleveland Magazine readers recognized Yours Truly in four categories in 2006, including, “Best Breakfast,” “Best Family Dining,” “Best Burger,” and “Best Cheap Eats.” Named by the Employers Resource Council as one of the “99 Best Places to Work in Northeast Ohio,” Yours Truly employs 400 full and part-time employees and estimates hiring 50 employees at the new location. ... Condolences to Steve Ryan on the passing of his mother, Elizabeth Ryan, in March. Steve and spouse Linda live in Farmington Hills, MI. Linda works with Head Start pre-schoolers. Daughter Katie graduated from Michigan State and began working for Nordstrom’s. Kelsey is a sophomore English major at Western Michigan. Steve said she has inherited her namesake’s (Robin ‘Duke’ Kelsey ’78) gift for reading and writing. Charlie, the baby, is a high school senior. ... In March, Dr. Brian Farrell joined other celebrities in Chicago by raising thousands of dollars for medical research and prevention of childhood cancer. Eight years ago St. Baldrick’s began as a casual conversation between friends and has exploded into the world’s biggest volunteer-driven fundraising program for childhood cancer! Events have taken place in 10 countries and 42 U.S. states, raising over $20 million, and shaving more than 26,000 heads, including Brian’s. ... Thanks for writing. Tim |

| winter 2007 | Greetings! Here’s the latest from our classmates: Sandy Anderson and husband Tim Polgar will celebrate 24 years of marriage this June. They reside in Westlake, OH. Sandy has been in the insurance and investment industry for 25 years and now also teaches at a local college. Daughter Alex is a freshman at the University of Kentucky and daughter Aimee is a 16 year-old golf and baseball standout. Sandy was unable to make a girls’ reunion in Colorado last year, but she and Laura Fasano did get to London for another reunion. Sandy is active in several local organizations and always has places at her dinner table for others. ... Dan Weitzel and spouse Georgia keep active with sons Marty and Pat, students at Gonzaga College High School and son Tim in elementary school. Weitz is an attorney with the Enterprise Business Law Group in McLean, VA. Dan keeps in touch with Jack Blackburn and other classmates. ... Mary Anthony Milcinovic lives in Brecksville, OH, with spouse Scott. They are parents of three: Steven (sophomore at Hiram), Megan (freshman at Furman) and Pete (sophomore at Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School). Mary keeps the home front coordinated and also with Nick’s work as minority shareholder and CFO of Horsburgh & Scott (metal gear manufacturer in Cleveland). ... Peter Ruffing and spouse Jeannine are semi-empty nesters in Delaware, OH. Nate (23), graduate of OSU 2006, entered the Marines OCS January 21, 2007. Tim (22), OSU through junior year, entered the Army September 2006. Thad, (20) and Lucas (18) are at OSU as junior and freshman, respectively. Jeannine is a physical therapist and Pete is the City Prosecutor for Delaware. ... Ginny Happ Pierson and spouse Mike ’79 celebrated their 25 year wedding anniversary last September. They live in North Olmsted, OH, and have two kids in college: Steve, a junior at the University of Toledo and Cate, a freshman at Loyola University Chicago. Youngest daughter, Libby, is a senior in high school who will probably be attending Wheeling Jesuit University in the fall. The Piersons enjoy travel on their Harley Low Rider. Classmate Tom O’Grady taught high school history to one of the Pierson girls before he became mayor of North Olmstead. Ginny would love to hear from Patty Carson and Robin Gallese. ... In November, Terry O’Brien was elected to a fourth consecutive six year term as commissioner of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago. He has also been elected president of the MWRDGC five times. Congratulations! This past September, Terry and several classmates celebrated turning 50 at JCU’s Homecoming weekend. Bob Rees, Jon Manilla, Dave De Angelis ’77, Bob Burak, Jim Messer and Mark Fasano and others played golf, had a cookout at the Buraks’, tailgated, attended the football game and caught up with Fr. Greetings! Here’s the latest from the new 50 year old classmates: Rev. Walter “Bruce” Brownridge moved to Sewanee, TN, in September to serve as associate dean for Community Life at the School of Theology. The seminary is a graduate program of the University of the South and is owned by the Episcopal Church. The dean of the graduate school says “Fr. Brownridge is a superb person to oversee community life at the School of Theology, bringing an exceptional combination of gifts. His deep faith, past experience and pastoral insight will be particularly valuable in forming our seminarians and their families for ministry.” Bruce, spouse Tina and sons Thurgood and Martin, return to the U.S. after three years of service in South Africa at St. George’s Cathedral. Bruce’s post-JCU career includes serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, law school, special assistant U.S. attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice, trial attorney, executive assistant to the mayor of Cleveland, counsel to the chief of police, entering the Episcopal seminary and as rector of Christ Church in Shaker Heights. ... Michael J. Merriman Jr., the CFO and senior vice president at American Greetings Corp., has been appointed to succeed John B. Schulze as CEO and president of Lamson & Sessions Co. to begin November 15. Mike’s career includes being an accountant for Arthur Andersen; chief financial officer then CEO for Royal Appliance Manufacturing; and senior vice president at American Greetings. The Lamson & Sessions chair says Mike is “an outstanding leader who brings a successful track record as CEO of a public company, along with a strong background in retail markets, consumer products, product development, strategic acquisitions and international operations.” Mike continues to serve as a trustee at our alma mater while classmate Greg Skoda serves on JCU’s board of regents. Thanks to both Mike and Greg for their leadership service to JCU. ... Prayers and condolences to Brian Farrell on the passing of his mother, to Rosemarie Piening on the passing of her mother-in-law and to Kathy and Tom Caplice on the passing of Kathy’s father. ... | Greetings Class of ‘78! ... Condolences and prayers to family and friends of our classmate, Sue ‘Stretch’ Leopold, who died of melanoma cancer on July 6. Sue battled with cancer for two years and kept working and playing softball through the treatments. JCU classmates and friends kept in touch with Sue and attended the services including Joanie Snyder, Vicke and Tom Horvath, Terry O’Brien, Colleen Farrell Melena, Jim Skerl, Bob Rees, Ramona Francesconi Rogers ’79, Jim Schaefer ’79 and Joe Spicuzza ’73. There is a collection of reflections of Sue; e-mail me and I’ll send it to you. ... Joanie Snyder’s oldest son graduated from Loyola University this past spring. Her other two sons are in college and high school. Joanie, spouse George and family live in Grand Rapids, MI. ... Bob Rees lives in Pittsburgh and has ‘an empty nest’ with kids at Kenyon College and the University of Richmond. Dave’s daughter Lauren began her first year of college at Elon University in North Carolina. Son Michael is a sophomore at Loyola Academy. Rob Herald left Cairo during spring break to visit Bruce Brownridge and family in Cape Town, South Africa. Rob had a great time visiting Reverend, Tina and the boys, seeing the beautiful scenery, climbing Table Mountain, golfing at Royal Cape Golf Club and sampling the great beer and fine wines of the region. Rob reports Bruce is doing some wonderful work down there and has some wonderful and interesting friends, including Desmond Tutu. Rob continues to travel and has visited another dozen countries since our 25th Reunion. Rob begins his next job this fall at Ruamrudee International School in Bangkok, Thailand. As always, Rob offers, ‘visitors welcome!’ ... Bro. Mike Tripka, TOR is librarian at Everest Institute (formerly Duff’s Business Institute) in Pittsburgh. Br. Mike lives at Queen of Peace Friary; the Friary staffs a parish, Saint Matthew, and is looking at consolidating with other parishes. ... John Kostyo won the March primary and is democratic candidate for the 76th Ohio House District (Ohio’s Hardin, Hancock and Auglaize Counties). The campaign experience has given John a lot more meaning to his ‘surviving Dr. Barber’s classes in political science.’ John - www.johnfkostyo.com - admits to being ‘a commando Republican’ during his JCU days but now says ‘inside every Republican is an inner Democrat, that we grow and change for the better’ ... | Greetings! Paul and Rosie Gellott live in Mayfield Heights. The Gellotts have four children, two of them grown and on their own. The second-oldest, Rebecca, graduated from JCU in 2004. Paul is employed by AMC Theatres and serves a variety of functions with that company. In addition to being the general manager of the Ridge Park Square Cinema in Brooklyn, OH, he is the market recruiter and market trainer for the Cleveland market, responsible for recruiting and training management personnel for Northeast Ohio theatres. A recent extra duty includes serving as a theatre ambassador, assisting in the transition of operations for the Loews Theatre chain, recently merged with AMC. Rosie is a vocalist with the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus and is in her eighth year with that group. She regularly performs in the Severance Hall concerts and the Blossom Summer Series, and has also performed at Carnegie Hall, in the Edinburgh Music Festival in Scotland, and at this past summer’s Lucerne Arts Festival and the BBC Proms Festival in London. The Gellotts are both active at their parish, St. Clare in Lyndhurst, where Rosie is a cantor and Paul is a lector and past chairman of the Parish Council. ... Jon Grosse married Patricia Johnson in December 2005. They live in Westlake, OH. Jon is container repack/labpack supervisor for Ross Incineration Services, Inc. in Grafton, OH. ... Joyce Blackburn lives and breathes hockey. Joyce lives in Princeton, NJ, with spouse Jim’75. The Blackburns have four sons: AJ, Harry, Peter and Lewis. AJ and Harry attend The Hun School in Princeton - junior and freshman years. Peter and Lewis attend the local Catholic school - grades 7 and 4. All four boys play competitive hockey; Joyce and Jim are in the college search mode with AJ. Joyce and Jim welcome visitors in the Princeton area -- catching up with old friends and enjoying company. ... Rich Kenney made a career move. In February 2006, Rich became the regional sales manager for the Ohio Valley Region for Global Logistics provider Kuehne + Nagel, based in the company’s Cleveland branch office. Services provided include air, sea, customs brokerage, warehousing and distribution in over 100 countries worldwide. The company’s global headquarters is in Switzerland. Rich keeps in touch with John Martin, general manager of Colortone Inc. At Colortone’s “Annual Garage Sale”, John and Rich enjoyed scoping out the company’s production facilities, reliving the WUJC radio days. ... Jack Schufreider left a long career at Molex in December to take a position with Amphenol Commercial Products. As national distribution manager of the Americas, the job requires more travel, but Jack is enjoying the move. Jack lives in Littleton, CO. ... Terry O’Brien was re-elected in the March 2006 democratic primary as commissioner and president of the Cook County Metropolitan Water Reclamation District. Terry will now run in the fall full election to continue his remarkable service – 17 years on the Board of Commissioners, nine of those years as president. | Winter greetings! Here’s the latest ... ‘Empty nester’ Paul Cipar lives on a farm with wife Pat in Port Washington, OH. Paul is president of Paramount Machine Company in New Philadelphia, OH, and is planning for retirement. Daughter Michelle Cameron ’01 and son Paul live in the area. Besides the farm duties, two granddaughters keep grandma Pat’s schedule busy and Paul enjoys riding his Harley-Davidson and golfing (in both Ohio and North Carolina). Paul lost contact with JCU roommate Jim Gregorich a couple years ago and would love to reconnect with Jim. ... J. Mike Murukis and spouse Mary live in San Diego, CA. Mike works as an environmental engineer for the Dept. of Defense at MCAS (Marine Corps Air Station) Miramar and is very grateful that the base did not appear on the BRAC (Base ReAlignment and Closure) list last May. Oldest son, Brian, is a high school senior, and the college search is in process. Other son, David, is enjoying high school and wife Mary works for a major airline. The Murukis family travels to Ireland every summer to tour and visit Mary’s relatives and plan more world travel as the kids get older. Mike still keeps in touch with classmate Jim Valenti. ... As of this writing, hurricane Wilma is heading for Florida and Anne (JCU’79) and Tim Bailey are boarding up their home in Bonita Springs, FL. The Baileys left their ‘raising kids’ home in Naperville, IL, after 17 years and moved to Florida in 2002. Tim sells web sites and internet strategies to realtors and real estate offices throughout several southern states and manages to maintain a four or five golf handicap. Anne continues her real estate career (from ReMax in Illinois to ReMax in southwest Florida). The Baileys are ‘empty nesters’ and grandparents-to-be with son Mike’s wife expecting. | Greetings! ... Joe Jerse recently accepted an invitation from classmate Rob Kehoe to associate with his law firm. Joe finds it to be an interesting practice with excellent clients and a sophisticated litigation component and is also glad to be back in downtown Cleveland. Joe squeezed a hint out of the former hoopster (Rob) that has helped his weekly round ball game. Joe and spouse Nella moved from the Old Brooklyn of Cleveland to North Royalton about two years ago. Daughter Juliana is a senior at Padua and is considering JCU for college and other daughter Amalia (Lia) is an excellent reader in fourth grade. Joe keeps in touch with Greg Hink and a number of Room One denizens and has been following the life and times of fellow rifle team members John Sideras and Chris Axelrod ’76. ... Jeffrey Neuman and Mary Ann Salvatore Neuman just celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary. The Neumans have three children -- Jeff (23), Ted (20), and Chris (16). Jeff is president of Barnes Wendling CPAs (headquartered in Cleveland) where he has been employed for 27 years straight out of JCU. Hobbies include golf and being a long suffering sports fan of all Cleveland professional teams as well as Ohio State. Jeff’s partner Mike Pappas ’79 is active in obtaining financial support for JCU's new football stadium. ... Nancy Moran Veselica is trying to find time around her two teenagers’ schedules (driver's ed, work schedules, etc.) to get into the voiceover business. Nancy’s first career was in advertising, but now she’s switching gears while continuing to raise her family. She’s taking voiceover classes and is close to making a demo CD in August. Nancy is already on the air in Valparaiso, IN, on a local not-for-profit station and has recorded a duets Catholic Christmas music CD with a friend that will be sold to benefit various local charities. A large group of Nancy’s JCU classmates are planning to get together for their 50th next year - maybe to climb a mountain or? ... In May, Mike McMahon and daughter, Maeve, visited Steve Matusz (Steve is Maeve’s godfather) for the first communion of Steve’s son Evan. Steve and Mike were members of the heralded (by Dr. Navratil) Gold Medal JCU Econ class of 1978. ... | Greetings! Here’s the latest: James “Jim” Blase of St. Louis, MO, invested about two years to re-create the 1904 World’s Fair on DVD. The fair placed a spotlight on modern marvels of the Industrial Age and celebrated the 1803 Louisiana Purchase. More than 20 million people from around the world attended the fair. Jim, a history buff, researched, created and produced “The 1904 World’s Fair Reconstructed,” a virtual tour of the World’s Fair in a then-and-now perspective. Jim began the research with his son, Tommy (10). Blase plans to produce Volumes 3 and 4. Those DVDs will chronicle the Washington University and St. Louis Zoo areas of the fair. Volumes 1 and 2 of “The 1904 World’s Fair Reconstructed” are available for purchase. The set is being sold at Border’s, Barnes and Noble, and Left Bank Books. ... Mari Gonzalez lived in her hometown in Puerto Rico for the last 21 years, working in the consulting industry. Mari recently moved to Orlando, FL, and keeps in touch with Beth Scriven who lives in Ft. Greetings! Here’s the latest ... Jim Gentile and family survived the 2004 hurricane season in Florida. Jim, Carla, and kids live on the east coast outside Ft. Lauderdale. Jim is one of our few classmates to have worked for one company in our 25+ years since JCU. Jim’s area of responsibility for Motorola includes Central and South America. Condolences to Jim and family over the passing of his mother. ... For the past two years, Rob Herald has been living in Cairo, Egypt and is a counselor at the American school. Life in Cairo for Rob includes, taking felucca (sailboat) cruises on the Nile, starting a Golf Club at school and coaching softball. The Latrobe, PA native’s recent travel includes Germany, Zurich, Prague, Paris, Doha and Bangkok. A couple awestruck moments Rob has experienced includes night taxi rides with lights off and a parish priest’s homily talking about when Christ lived in their neighborhood. ... That fall, we began the experiences of lifetime friendships, 3.2% beer at the Ratbar, term papers, 2 am fire alarms, science labs, 'quad jobs,' Dougald MacEachen tests, Shirley in the Cafeteria, Duke Millor kicking us out of Bernet after 'quiet hours,' and Saturday midnight Mass after the Ratbar closed, etc. ...
