However, I am regretfully reminded at least once a week when I get the ever so dreaded “you are about to go into your student loan repayment period” letters. ... All joking aside, I wanted to remind all of you who are moving away from the parents, to update your info with John Carroll. In order to keep you all updated, I need to know how to contact you for information. I have a minimal amount of classmates’ e-mail address, so please e-mail me (address above), instant message me “ClapperJCU,” or go to http://www.jcu.edu/alumni/update_record_new.asp. ... I am also looking into creating a Web site dedicated to our class. summer 2004
Hello to the class of 2004. I am honored to be able to bring news to all of you via this class column. After all those years of getting this magazine and reading a few of the past class reports, it’s a little strange to be writing one about our own class. It still hasn’t hit me that we’ve graduated. Everyone always talks about how it doesn’t really set in until fall when all of our younger friends are preparing to go back to Carroll or other schools around us. It is hard to believe come September we will no longer be able to play “yard ball” near Millor Hall, or make s’mores on the Bernet lawn like we did during our last week at Carroll. I hope you will enjoy reading the updates from our classmates in this column. However, I can only keep you informed if you keep me updated. If you have information about yourself, or anyone else in our class, please feel free to send me the info by one of the ways listed above. So, without further a due, here are some updates from a few of our classmates. ... A lot of our classmates are going back to school for their master’s -- Megan Macala is planning on doing grad work in chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh, while John Skendall is currently in Washington, D.C. working on his master’s in political science at American University. ... Matt Krupa is working towards his MBA at Cleveland State, and James Day will continue his Jesuit education at Loyola Marymount in L.A. ... While the job market is tough, some grads are already busy with their new jobs/careers. It seems like Ryan Homes benefited the most from our class, picking up four grads, George Theofilos, Amanda Semko and Emilie Lupiani are sales and marketing associates, while Ryan DeGeorge is a project manager. ... Sara Neville will be busy teaching 12th grade speech and creative writing and 10th grade English this fall at Fairview High School. ... Kelly Ryan will be coordinating individualized education plan for Summit Academy in Lorain. ... Joe Mifsud earned his biology license in Cleveland and is going to be a marine biologist for the Cleveland Institute of Science starting August 1st. ... Dom DiNinno moved to Dayton, OH and began working for Dayton Freight where he recently entered their management trainee business program. ... As for myself, I have just moved to Tucson, AZ where I will be the resident director at a fraternity house on the University of Arizona’s campus and will work for a management group full time as a program manager for over 16 clients around the country. ... Wedding bells have yet to ring for anyone in our class, but there are plans for them in the near future, as Melissa D’Amore will marry her high school sweetheart, Matthew Joseph, in May of 2005 in Hermitage, PA. “Whatever you do, do well, and may success attend your efforts.” Paul
