Here is what some of your classmates have been up to: Pete Aubry received and accepted a graduate assistantship at the University of Akron and will begin classes there in the fall. ... Maria Kacik is currently the business reporter with The Gazette in Medina County, OH. However, starting in August, Maria will be taking a three month break from her job to volunteer in Moshi, Tanzania, with the nonprofit group Cross Cultural Solutions. ... Brittany Soeder accepted a position this past April as a news reporter for WCJB TV20, an ABC affiliate in Gainesville, FL. | summer 2008 | We have not received a lot of news this time, but it seems like things are going great for the people we have heard from! Liz Mahoney is currently engaged and will be getting married to Kevin Barmann ’06 on October 18, 2008, in Philadelphia, PA. ... David Schuld is currently completing graduate studies in Brussels, Belgium, and will begin working for the European Parliament in May. ... Michelle Anderson is still busy at JCU as a graduate student and resident minister. She will be traveling to Duran, Ecuador, as part of JCU’s Rostro de Cristo immersion experience. ... | spring 2008 | There has been a lot going on with our class from post-graduate schooling to volunteering to new jobs! Laura Pareso just finished her first three blocks at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She is also involved in UC Med-mentors, which is a program that pairs up Cincinnati medical students with Cincinnati public school students. Through this program, she mentors a seventh grade student and motivates her to succeed in her schoolwork and on the basketball team, and Laura also enjoys going to plays with her. … Currently working as a marketing coordinator at Swagelok in Solon, Ohio, Michelle Anderson also keeps busy as a resident minister at Carroll. She lives in Pacelli with first-year women while pursuing a master’s in communications management. ... In Baltimore, Md., Lauren Fraser is working at Catholic Charities - St. Vincent Center with foster kids who have survived abuse and multiple home placements. She is completing a year of service with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. ... Stephanie Cuddy is in Chicago working for Rosenthal Collins Group as an HR generalist. ... Back in the Cleveland area, Christina Phillis is an associate editor for Ophthalmology Times, a trade magazine in North Olmsted, where she is in charge of its practice management section as well as web management. ... Samantha Reefer is a product manager for consumer telephony products at Jenne Inc., serving as the liaison between Jenne and its manufacturers, such as GN/Jabra, Plantronics, Sennheiser, EnGenius, and Vtech. She works with manufacturers and the Jenne marketing team to create marketing campaigns and collateral materials. In addition, she works with Jenne’s inside and outside sales team to ensure customer product questions are answered and to make our marketing material available to them. Samantha resides in downtown Cleveland and is involved in several professional organizations. ... Lyndi Startari and Brandon Oing ’06 were recently engaged and are planning a wedding for November 29, 2008. In other engagement news, Sarah Nairne is engaged to Todd Schafer, and is planning a wedding for August 2008. Sarah is currently a coach at Stow-Munroe Falls High School. ... | fall 2007 | Now that the Holidays are just around the corner, you are probably wishing you still had a winter break! Many of us returned back to campus for Homecoming Weekend in September, which kicked off with Bob Saget’s crazy antics in Kulas Auditorium. We cheered on the Blue Streaks for the first time as alums, and attended the Mass and breakfast on Sunday. In October, we enjoyed the Young Alumni Happy Hour at the Blind Pig on West 6th. ... Currently in Nashville, TN, Jason Miller is doing a year of service with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. He is working with the Catholic Charities Refugee Resettlement helping refugees who have recently come to the United States from all over the world to find jobs. Also doing a year of service with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps is Rosanna Violi, who is working in Portland, OR. Rosanna is working at the Downtown Chapel, which is a Catholic parish that serves the poor and homeless in Portland. ... In Chicago, Brian Pender is working with GE Commercial Finance as an investment analyst. ... AndrewMarin is working in Solon as a project manager at The Technology House, a rapid prototyping and engineering company. ... LilianaMorales is sticking around JCU by working as an admission counselor in the Office of Admission. ... Emily Schmatz is working at Arcadia Therapy Service in sunny Phoenix, AZ. She is a caseload manager of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Services. ... Also in Chicago, Maria Khoury is volunteering at the Jesuit Alumni Volunteer program at Cristo Rey Jesuit High School, a dual language (Spanish-English) school where the students work in professional internships five days a month to help pay for the school. | summer 2007 | As of the day this column is due, it has been exactly two months since we graduated. The time has definitely gone by very quickly! We have gotten a lot of wonderful news from people, so keep sending us your new information so everyone can keep in touch! ... Megan Kimmich is working at American Eagle Outfitters in Pittsburgh in AE direct (online.) She is busy doing men’s merchandising there, while at the same time looking for a place to live. Michelle Dunphy is working at Great Lakes Publishing for Inside Business Magazine as a marketing assistant. David Catalano is working in Beachwood at Penske Logistics. ... As for graduate school news, there are quite a few people from our class working towards becoming doctors. Nate Franley is off to The University of Toledo College of Medicine for a four-year MD program. Megan Beatty ’06 will be attending The Ohio State University’s College of Dentistry for the next four years. Also attending OSU are Jenny Sopkovich and Alena Neton ’06, who will be going there for medical school. Krista Corabi will be attending law school at Duquesne. The person with what is almost certainly the most interesting new school is Kelly Kookoothe. Kelly will be attending the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in the fall. ... As for us, Brittany Bush recently started as a project coordinator for SearchPath International in downtown Cleveland, and Lisa Iafelice is the circulation director for Northern Ohio Live magazine located in Little Italy in Cleveland.
