As Director of Sponsored Research, I am committed to assisting faculty and students in their pursuit of ethical research. In this service-oriented office, I manage pre-award and post award administration for sponsored programs working closely with the Controller’s Office. Assistance is provided for the identification of possible funding sources and the conceptual development and submission of proposals and, on the post award side, in negotiating grant contracts and agreements, preparing financial reports, and processing expenditure requests. In addition to research opportunities, we also handle research compliance for both faculty and students. I serve as Assistant Chair of the IRB and am an ex officio member of the IACUC.

I earned Certification as a Research Administrator (CRA) from the Research Administrators Certification Council in 2005 and renewed my Certification as an IRB Manager (CIM) from the National Association of IRB Managers in 2007. I am a member of the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA) and a regional member of the Society of Research Administrators (SRA-International).

Formerly part of The Graduate School, this office now reports to Associate Academic Vice President Dr. James Krukones as of January 2008.
