2) Revelation: Self-communication of God, who wishes to evoke a response

• heart/gut experience
• recognition of subjective nature of experience
• Faith: a personal commitment-response to a revealing God; a relationship of trust
• e.g., I love you, Lord, for revealing Yourself to me
