Here is where you can find out about all kinds of things you need in the Boler School of Business.

• Want to apply to the Boler School of Business?

You’ll need 45 credit hours, a C average overall, and a C average in the business courses you have taken so far, which should include EC 201, AC 201, BI 107-8-9, and MT 122.  You will also need to attend a sophomore business student session or watch the session on DVD available in the Dean’s office.  Fill out the application to the Boler School of Business form and have your advisor sign it and give it to the BSOB Dean’s office.

• Want to know what courses you should be planning to take as a business student?

Core Curriculum Requirements for students who started at John Carroll...

• ...in or after Fall 2008
• ...between Fall 2007 and Summer 2008
• ...before Fall 2007

• Want to petition for a class you are interested in taking to get a special approval?

In the event that a student requests a substitution of courses, a special request of the Core Committee, an extension of time to complete course work, or to request a major course substitution, an Academic Petition is used. As of January 12, 2009, John Carroll University has implemented a new electronic version of the Academic Petition Form.

• Want to take a summer course closer to home?

You’ll need a course description from the school where you want to take the course and the following form filled out, approved and signed:  Summer Transient Student Petition Form

• Want to apply for a BSOB scholarship?

We have a variety of scholarships available.  The scholarship application process begins in November of each year and the scholarship applications are due in the Dean’s office on the first day of spring semester. Scholarships are open to third year students to be used for their last year of undergraduate studies. These scholarships cannot be applied for graduate work. Scholarships are competitive with the primary emphasis on academic performance. Contact the Boler School of Business Dean’s office at 216-397-4391 if you have any questions.

• Thinking you might want to graduate?

You’ll need to attend one of the BSOB senior meetings in early Fall or watch the session on DVD available in the Dean’s office.  Then you’ll need to fill out an application for graduation and submit it by the deadline for your graduation term.  Application deadline is during the semester prior to the semester of your graduation date.  Contact the Boler School of Business Dean’s Office at 397-4391 for the specific date.
