OF INTEREST
- The Boler School of Business is fully accredited by AACSB International
(The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). In addition,
the Accountancy program has accounting-specific accreditation from the
AACSB.
- Within Ohio, John Carroll traditionally is among the highest or second
highest passing percentage on the CPA examination for first-time test
takers.
- Twice within the last five years John Carroll has placed in the top
three nationally in passing percentage of the CPA exam for first-time
test takers. In addition, JCU's Deloitte Tax Case Study Competition
(previously the Andersen Tax Challenge) team has competed in the National
Finals of the competition five times since 1992. JCU qualified for both
the 2000 and 2001 national finals. This prestigious competition starts
with teams from roughly 50 different colleges and universities from
around the country competing in regional sites.
- Ohio and most other states require CPA candidates to have obtained
150 semester hours (i.e., a fifth year) of education in order to be
eligible to sit for the CPA exam and to be licensed as a CPA upon successful
completion of the exam.
