AACSB Accreditation & Why You Should Care

When a school says it is AACSB accredited, it says a lot.  The Association for Advancing Colleges and Schools of Business is the gold standard for accreditation.  Although there are other accrediting agencies, AACSB is the largest, oldest, and most prestigious.

Only the very best business programs are accredited by AACSB.  All but one of the business programs listed in the Financial Times Top 50 Business Programs are AACSB accredited.  Take a look at the top 100 business programs ranked by US News & World Report and you’ll see these are also AACSB accredited.

Approximately 25% of business schools worldwide are accredited by AACSB at any level.  Only 11% of business programs worldwide are AACSB accredited at the undergraduate and graduate levels with a separate accreditation for their accountancy programs.  The Boler School of Business has this dual accreditation, placing us in the top 11% of the business programs in the world.

Why should you care about about AACSB accreditation?

For prospective students, the AACSB accreditation is your assurance that the faculty are truly experts in their field and that the classes you will take have current, relevant content to give you the state of the art knowledge you will need to succeed in business.

For employers, the AACSB accreditation is your assurance that your managers have received a business education that will truly add value to your organization.
