Lindsay Calkins, Ph.D.

Dr. Calkins’ primary teaching interests include Principles of Economics, Intermediate Microeconomics, Public Finance, and Industrial Organization and Antitrust. Her research interests are varied: she has written on state and local business taxes (Environment and Planning C: Government and Policy), state technology incentives (Journal of Regional Science), tax effects in bond yield differentials (Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance), gender differences in management style (The CPA Journal) and the effects of mandatory seat belt laws on motor vehicle fatalities (Social Science Quarterly – forthcoming). Her current research focuses on a comparison of the concept of risk aversion in the fields of economics and psychology, and on the factors influencing the undergraduate determination of major.
