Don Domm is a business professor specializing in strategic management
and international business and is active as a consultant. He has completed
training with the Organizational Development Lab - National Training Group,
Arthur Andersen & Company, and the Becker Certified Accounting Review.
Dr. Domm has been associated with Kent State University, the University
of Houston, and as an adjunct research professor at the State University
of New York and the McCormick Theological Seminary. He has also functioned
as a university administrator at The Ohio State University and Kent State
University. For two years Dr. Domm has lectured in accounting and strategy
for half the academic year at the Center for Academic Programs Abroad
CAPA, London, England. He also developed and conducted international business
programs for MBA students in Asia.
Dr. Domm has contributed to a variety of business journals. Examples
include Business Strategy Review, SAM Advanced Management Journal, IEEE:
Transactions on Management, Journal of Business Strategy, Journal of Technology
Management, California Management Review, Personnel Psychology, The Wall
Street Review of Books, Journal of Purchasing, Quarterly Journal of Management
Development, Atlanta Economic Review, and the Personnel Journal
Dr. Domm has consulted in a variety of industries. Examples include aerospace,
petro-chemical, medical, banking, engineering, rubber, railroad, food,
auto-parts, trucking, metal and retail. He has consulted to firms located
in various regions of the world: North and South America, the Caribbean,
Western and Eastern Europe, and Asia. South African managers traveled
to Belgium to meet with Dr. Domm for strategy discussions. Also consulting
for closely held family firms, Dr. Domm focuses on both business and family
concerns and the impact of each on the other.
Dr. Domm has also worked in the Czech, Slovak and Croatia Republics with
the United States Agency for International Development and foreign governments
in assisting firms in moving from a communist to a free enterprise economy.
Dr. Domm also presented to a variety of academic and professional business
associations. Examples include the following: National Academy of Management,
Financial Management Association, ORSA-TIMS, Society of Industrial and
Organizational Psychology, American Institute of Decision Sciences, American
Society of Business and Behavioral Sciences, American Society for Training
and Development, American Institute of Banking, Public Relations Society
of America, National Association of Accountants, American Boiler Manufacturer's
Association and the American Institute of Industrial Engineers.
Board service has included Ashtabula Savings and Loan, Old Trail School
(a private institution), Silver Lake Planning Board and President and
Deer Island Association.
