Dr. Walter Simmons' primary research interests are in the areas of labor
economics and economic analysis of law. He has published articles on the
economics of litigation and the disposition of medical malpractice claims,
and the earnings gap between West Indian immigrants and their descendants
in the U.S. labor market. His recent research focuses on the economic
performance of West Indian immigrants in the U.S.
Dr. Simmons teaches courses in principles of economics, business statistics,
mathematical economics, and management science.
