Mark D. Treleven is on leave for the 2005-06 academic year from his position
as an Associate Professor of Operations Management at John Carroll University.
Subsequent to earning his Ph.D. in operations management at the University
of North Carolina at Chapel Hill he was a faculty member at the University
of Minnesota and the College of William and Mary.
He has served at the Decision Sciences Institute in various capacities
including Program Chair and President of the Midwest region and Executive
Director of the Society of Stellar Fellars, served the former Institute
of Management Sciences’ College on Production and Operations Management
as their Vice Chairperson of Community Relations and Membership and Chairperson
of their Nominating Committee, and is certified at the Fellow Level by
APICS - The Association for Operations Management.
Prof. Treleven has published research in the areas of quality management,
dual-resource-constrained systems, supply chain management, part and process
commonality, and information technologies in Decision Sciences, Journal
of Operations Management, IIE Transactions, Journal of Purchasing and
Materials Management, Mid-American Journal of Business, and William and
Mary Business Review. He has also consulted with North Star Steel (now
Gerdau Ameristeel), Wagner Spray Tech, Virginia Natural Gas, Barmet Aluminum
(now Aleris International), and The National Museum of Education
