What to Study in the Boler School – Our Majors
You have 7 different majors to choose from in the Boler School of Business.
Each major focuses on different aspects of business and uses different “tools” to approach business problems and issues.
Each major tends to direct you into different career paths, but that’s just for starters. Because of the strength of our program, any of the majors in the Boler School of Business can take you wherever you want to go. So pick the business major you are interested in and find your path to success.
Typically, you will apply to the Boler School of Business in the spring semester of your sophomore year, which is when all students on campus choose their major. You’ll need 45 credits, a C average overall, and a C average in your business classes which should include at a minimum EC 201, AC 201, BI 107-8-9, and MT 122.
All Boler students take the business core classes. If you
started at John Carroll before 2007, click here
for requirements. If you started at John Carroll in Fall of 2007
or later, click here for requirements.
These normally start in the freshman year with economics and a business
computer class and end in the senior year with a class on strategy
and a class covering legal issues, with other classes in the sophomore
and junior years. The business core is the foundation where
you learn how all the different aspects of business work.
You’ll also take courses in your major (there are 7 different majors to choose from). These courses will take you much deeper into one area of business where you’ll explore a wide range of issues in which you are especially interested. |
