2008 COMMENCEMENT SPEAKER
Patrick Rombalski, Ed.D.
Departing JCU Vice President for Student Affairs Delivers Keynote Address

John Carroll University’s Vice President for Student Affairs Patrick Rombalski, Ed.D., will present the University’s 2008 commencement address Sunday, May 18, at noon on the Rodman Terrace and Quadrangle (on campus*).
Dr. Rombalski has significantly contributed to the University; first as Dean of Students, and since 2002, as Vice President for Student Affairs. His interest in the total student experience, his attention to comparative data for assessment and change and his commitment to the University’s Jesuit Catholic identity and mission are a few examples of his many contributions. This summer, Dr. Rombalski will join Boston College as Vice President of Student Affairs.
Approximately 700 undergraduate and 270 graduate students will be awarded diplomas.
HONORARY DEGREE RECIPIENT
John Carroll University Chair of the Board, Allyn R. Adams '64, will confer an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters on Dr. Martin J. Schreiber, Jr., M.D. ’72. Dr. Schreiber is Chairman of the Nephrology and Hypertension Department at the Cleveland Clinic. His tremendous outreach both locally and globally exemplify the mission and the spirit of John Carroll University.
ALUMNI MEDAL RECIPENTS
The Alumni Medal is the highest honor awarded annually by the Alumni Association. It is presented to alumni who have distinguished themselves in their personal lives, reflecting credit upon John Carroll’s educational efforts, moral principals, and philosophical tenets.
The 2008 Alumni Medal recipients are:
