Jenna LoCastro, a Communications major at John Carroll University has been named the national first-place column-writing winner in the Society of Professional Journalists 2007 Mark of Excellence Awards. She will be honored at the 2008 SPJ Convention & National Journalism Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, in September.

Her award-winning column, “LoCastro’s Lowdown,” appears regularly in The Carroll News, the University’s student newspaper. Jenna also completed a spring semester journalism internship at Cleveland’s Inside Business magazine.
