RA SERVICE PROJECT 2008
8/23/08 - JCU's Resident Assistants spent the day working in partnership with St. Thomas Aquinas Elementary School located in Cleveland's Superior-St. Clair neighborhood.
The group of 50+ Resident Assistants, Area Coordinators, and Resident Ministers painted inside and out to prepare for the opening of school on 8/27.
At the end of the day, Sr. Michelle Kelly, SND, noted that the children would be very excited to return to school and find exciting new games on the school's playground, including hopscotch, four square, leapfrog, and basketball court.
The RA Service Project is just one of many collaborations between JCU and St. Thomas Aquinas, including weekly service-learning placements in the schools aftercare program, civics education programs with junior high students, and work days such as JCU's Cultivating Community Day.
