UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS - "THE CITY OF BEAUTIFUL HOMES"

Although originally named Idlewood Village at the turn of the century, it became University Heights in 1925 when John Carroll University, previously named St. Ignatius College, moved from the near West side of Cleveland to its present location.  The university is a significant neighbor to the 14,146 people who reside within the 1.9 square miles.  The city is just 8.2 miles from downtown Cleveland.

University Heights scores high marks for ease of shopping and the variety of stores and services offered.  However, it is the rich diversity of people that marks the community with its distinctive character.  Community members create a multicultural rainbow of different races, creeds, and ethnic backgrounds. Houses of worship, representing all major religious denominations, are located in or near
the city. University Heights is a thriving, intimate community that
includes John Carroll.
