Matthew W. Goffos Sergeant E-mail - mgoffos@jcu.edu Matt joined Campus Safety Services in September of 1980 as a patrolman. He is a 1982 graduate of the Basic Police Academy at Case Western Reserve University. Because of recertification requirements by the state he is also a 1999 graduate of the Basic Police Academy at Lakeland Community College. He is a Certified Prevention Specialist with, and member of, the Ohio Crime Prevention Association, responsible for overseeing day shift operations and supervising officers during that time, acts as a liaison with University Heights Police Department's RAD training officers, and advises students involved with Campus Watch. Sergeant Goffos serves as a Police Officer with the Eastlake Police Department part time. There he is in charge of the operation of the Juvenile Diversion program for the city and works at the stadium for the Lake County Captains.

Dale E. Blaess Sergeant E-mail - dblaess@jcu.edu Sergeant Dale Blaess joined the Department as a patrol officer in 1988 after working part time for six years as a police officer in Michigan. He became the second shift supervisor in 1996. Sgt. Blaess correlates the Department statistics for the annual crime report and oversees the Department lost and found property and evidence property.

Kenneth L. Beaver Sergeant E-mail - kbeaver@jcu.edu Kenneth Beaver started working for John Carroll University in late September of 2004.  He was promoted to sergeant in November or 2005 and was assigned the position of Night Shift Supervisor.  Prior to this, he had worked for the North Ridgeville Police Department from March of 1977 to March of 2004.  As a North Ridgeville officer, he was promoted to sergeant in 1991, assigned as Detective Bureau Supervisor in 1996, and promoted to lieutenant in 2002.  As a lieutenant, he served as Night Shift Commander and later as Services Division Commander.  He retired after 27 years of service.  Ken has an Associates Degree in Police Science and since retiring has earned his Private Pilot's License.  Ken is married to Vicki and has four children, three step-children, and one grand-daughter.
