ACCOMMODATIONS FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITES
Grievance Policy
In the event students believe they are not being fairly accommodated; they have the right to file a grievance. Faculty who believe an accommodation is unfair are also welcome to file a grievance. The procedure follows the same process in either case.
Step 1:The grievance must be presented in writing to the Director of Services for Students with Disabilities who will contact the involved parties and try to negotiate an agreement within five (5) business days. If the complaint cannot be settled in this manner, the director will go to Step 2. All requested accommodations should be provided during the time of theprocessing of the grievance. The director will respond in writing as to the resolution of the grievance and any action that will be taken. In the event the complaint is against the director, the student or faculty member should go directly to Step 2.
Step 2: The matter will be presented, in writing, to the appropriate dean, who will contact all involved parties to discuss the grievance. The dean will contact all involved parties with a written decision within five (5) business days.
