HOW TO GET INVOLVED
The Office of Student Activities has a great website that can be
very helpful for students looking to get involved. If you go the
CAMPUS LIFE: GETTING INVOLVED tab on the JCU website, you can
find a general description about our numerous student organizations
on campus. This website provides an alphabetical and categorical
listing of all the recognized student organizations on campus. Utilizing this website can be a great way to help
explore all the possible opportunities available here at JCU and
discover what it is you're interested in.
- Decide what type of activities interest you.
-What were you involved with in high school?
-What are your hobbies and pastimes?
-What are you passionate about?
- Ask upperclassmen what they are involved in at JCU.
- Talk to your RA about organizations available.
- Search on the John Carroll website for organizations you may
be interested in and find the contact information for the president
of the organization. Ask when meetings and events are, and
attend at least one to check out if the organization is right
for you.
- Register on www.orgsync.com to get all the latest on student organization events.
- Read All-Student emails, atrium banners, and stall seat journals to find out about events on campus
- Visit our website, www.jcu.edu/osa
- E-mail us at studentactivities@jcu.edu
- Go to a Student Union (government) meeting, held each Tuesday
at 5:00 PM in the LSC Conference Room.
- Go to a Student Union Programming Board (SUPB) meeting, held each Tuesday at 9:00 PM in the Jardine Room.
- Volunteer.
- Play intramurals.
- Meet the people on your floor, and find out what they do!
If you still are unable to find what you are looking for come visit the office of Student Activities located above the JCU Bookstore in Suite 201 of the student center. The friendly office staff can connect you with the organization you are looking for!
If JCU doesn't have the organization you are looking for, you can start it! Every year students begin new organizations on campus. The staff in the Office of Student Activities will gladly work with you to initiate a brand new organization!
