"Things we see..."
"My faculty leader said to our group, 'we are not going to go down there and change the world. We are the people who are going to be changed by the experience.'"
"[Immersion experiences] allow us to give back...they change the way we see the world...they allow us to connect with God in a very different, exteremly personal way."

"Putting a face with the things you consume"
"Imagine you're in the mountains. You live in the clouds where everything around you is completely wet and moist and there is no electricity. Where there are only latrines and no plumbing. Where the water you drink and cook with and shower with are all part of the rain...The kids work from 6 AM to 4 PM. They go out and pick coffee...There aren't any roads, only dirt."

"Let's be uncomfortable"
"Let's be uncomfortable. Let's go back to Nicaragua and go back to the immersion trips where we were and remember the suffering and go out of our bubble, and live uncomfortably in our life."

"What do others have to teach me?"
"Let no one go unnoticed. Let no one in your life go by without looking at them. God is in all people and we need to respect that...the only way to let yourself be exposed to the goodness in that person is to open yourself up to them...The way to God is through others."

"How intentional have you been?"
"It's called Bethlehem Farm and it is on top of the mountain in Pence Springs, West Virginia...You wake-up before sunrise, share a prayer, chop some wood, eat some breakfast, and then go to work...You finish the day tired with a sense of accomplishment."
