STREAK WEEK SERVICE PROJECT
 John Carroll University has a strong tradition of service to the Cleveland community
and beyond. Streak Week will help welcome you, the Class of 2012, to this proud
JCU tradition. On Thursday, August 28, teams of first year students, accompanied by
current JCU students, faculty, staff and administrators, will engage in various
community service projects in local Cleveland neighborhoods.
Participating in the Streak Week Service Project is a great way to learn about service at John Carroll, make a difference in our community, and meet fellow JCU first year students. All students who participate will receive a "Streak Week Service Project" t-shirt.
Volunteers will take part in a wide variety of service projects. For example, you may do community clean-up work, painting, renovation work or even engage in activities with local adults and children. Work and safety materials will be provided, but volunteers should be dressed appropriately. Volunteers will be provided with snacks and a boxed lunch.
 Groups of Streak Week Service Project participants will serve at agencies in the city of Cleveland. Many John Carroll students volunteer at these sites throughout the year. Some of the service activities require physical labor and some include direct contact with persons served by the agencies. Current JCU students, faculty, staff and administrators will be assigned to each group to serve as team leaders. Bus and van transportation will be provided.

2007 Streak Week Service Project
Over 130 first year students had the opportunity to participate in a day of service during Streak Week. The group gave the Thea Bowman Center a "complete makeover" including new paint, landscaping, and much more. Thea Bowman Center. is a social service center located in Cleveland's Mt. Pleasant neighborhood, one of the most economically struggling areas of the city.
