Amy Cronin

Power Yoga
Amy Cronin received her yoga teacher certification from Cleveland Yoga, a Baron Baptiste affiliate studio here in Cleveland in June 2008.  She has been practicing yoga for 8 years and is excited to finally teach what she is so passionate about.  Amy is a native of University Heights and currently lives here with her husband, Michael, and her two children, Katie and William. 
   
Monique Reddix
Zumba

Certified Group Fitness and Zumba Instructor, Monique is an 8th Grade Middle School Teacher for Euclid City Schools.  She holds fitness endorsements in step aerobics, cycling and Pilates.  She completed her undergraduate work at Cleveland Stated University and earned her Graduate degree from Indiana Wesleyan University.   She resides in Lyndhurst with her husband and two children, ages 7 and 3. 

   
   
   
   
Stephen Dorroh
Cycling

Stephen Dorroh is a certified Spinning Instructor. He has been teaching spinning since 2005. He played basketball at Cleveland State University 1995-1996. He also served in the US Army for two years.Stephen is attending John Carroll Graduate program to earn a Masters in Education.He lives in Maple Heights with his wife and 5 chidren.

 

 

 

Lisa Berns Yoga
Lisa Berns biography picture Lisa began to practice yoga in 2006 after the birth of her children, initially for the physical benefits, however, she unexpectedly found that yoga helped her connect with her spiritual center and develop tools necessary for a healthy way of life such as inner strength and peace, clarity, calmness, self awareness and an open heart.  To deepen her passion for yoga, in 2010, Lisa studied under Tami Schneider and completed her certification through Cleveland Yoga.  “I believe strongly in the saying that we teach best what we most need to learn.”  Her teaching style is fun, invigorating, challenging yet empowering.  Her hope is to facilitate her enthusiasm for a healthy mind and body through yoga.  Lisa, a native of University Heights, is grateful and inspired by her many amazing teachers which include her husband, Justin and her 3 children; son, Caleb and twin daughters, Allie and Sarah.
   

Brooke Wunderly

Kickboxing

Brooke Wunderly started at John Carroll in 2009. She currently is a sophomore majoring in Biology and concentrating in Neuroscience. She has always had a passion for sports and fitness, being a student athlete through high school. Her passions include soccer and lacrosse, but unable to play in college, she became more focused on fitness.  She received her Primary Group Fitness certification through AFAA (Aerobic and Fitness Association of America), and has directed her interest to kickboxing. She is very excited to teach a new and popular group exercise, and is always open to new techniques and suggestions from other instructors or participants.

   
Alyssa Abraham Cycling

Alyssa is currently a junior at John Carroll University pursuing a degree in Marketing. Throughout high school, she worked for her local recreation center instructing tennis to children and adults. In college, Alyssa came to understand the importance of wellness and exercise as a way to alleviate stress. She wanted to be involved in an activity that would be an outlet from her hectic schedule. She was certified in group fitness instruction through NETA (National Exercise Trainer’s Association) and has developed a love for cycling. For the last three years, indoor cycling has proven to be a great addition to her fitness regimen. Alyssa hopes to make her class accessible and enjoyable for everyone. She is looking forward to helping her students reach their healthy lifestyle goals.

   
Melissa Shanes Power Yoga/Personal Trainer

Melissa’s goal is to teach health and wellness as an enjoyable lifestyle choice.  We are never too young or too old to cultivate new habits that improve our overall health and happiness.  A lifestyle that includes sound nutrition and physical activity can decrease stress, increase mental focus and prevent illness, as well as decrease weight and increase muscle mass, endurance and flexibility.

Melissa believes fitness should be fun and include various types of training such as core, balance, functional, strength, dynamic, cardiovascular and flexibility.  She enjoys sharing her passion for yoga and feels every person can benefit from the mind/body connection a yoga practice teaches us.

Melissa is a CYT 220 yoga teacher, NETA certified personal trainer, AASDN Nutrition Specialist and Licensed Practical Nurse.    She operates a personal training business and teaches yoga in Independence.     Melissa has a daily yoga practice, enjoys functional strength training, core work and cardio three times per week and is a vegan.

Andi Sebor Kickin' Abs! Cardio Kickboxing
Kickin' Abs incorporates elements of kickboxing punches and kicks in a fun ans sequential format. Kickin' Abs is for the interemediate to advanced student, although modifications are always used as needed. Students can expect 40-45 minutes of cardio/interval, 15-20 minutes of abs/quick strength and ending with good stretching.
