Telephone Service
Telephone service is provided for students in each residence hall room making it possible to make campus and local telephone calls directly. To make long-distance calls, you should purchase calling cards, available at most discount stores or at the campus bookstore. Telephones are not provided. It is the responsibility of the occupants to bring their own telephone which will operate on a touch-tone system. It is highly encouraged for students to bring a land-line phone, instead of a cordless phone, because it will work in the event of a power outage.
Cost for local telephone service, voice mail, and call waiting are included in the regular room rental charges. There are no limitations concerning the time when telephone calls may be received and made from room telephones.

Coin-operated vending machines are located in each hall. You can also use your Carroll Card to purchase items. The number of machines and selection of food products depends upon the size of the residence hall and the needs of its occupants. All vending machines are contracted by the university with local firms. If a machine is not functioning properly and needs service, contact your residence hall office. If you lose money in a vending machine, please leave your name and the amount of money in the mailroom. As a matter of courtesy, please place an out-of-order sign on a machine which is not functioning properly.

U.S. Mail Service
Students may pick up mail in the mail room located off of the Atrium in the D.J. Lombardo Student Center. A box number is assigned to each resident on campus and should be used on all correspondence addressed to you. Your address should look like this:
Name |
JCU XXXX |
20700 North Park Boulevard |
University Heights, OH 44118-4581 |
It is important that those corresponding with you do not include "P.O." or "Box" before your number so that mail is routed quickly and correctly. Problems with your mail service should be directed to the main mail room in the Administration Building.
