MEAL PLAN OPTIONS
Q. DO I NEED TO BE ON A MEAL PLAN?
A. Yes. All residents
must be on one of the six traditional meal plans provided.
Q. WHY IS THERE SO LITTLE DIFFERENCE
IN THE PRICE BETWEEN THE 10, 14, AND 19 MEAL PLANS?
A. The price of the meal
plans include fixed costs (equipment, utilities, and personnel)
and a "missed meal factor." The more plans offered,
the less likely a person is to miss meals. University
Dining Services serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily Monday
- Friday. They also provide brunch and dinner on Saturday
and Sunday. The meal plan options are:
| 19+ |
Unlimited daily entry and $100 in plus points |
| 19 |
19 meals per week |
| 14+ |
14 meals per week and $100 in plus points |
| 14 |
14 meals per week |
| 10+ |
10 meals per week and $137 plus points |
| 10 |
10 meals per week |
Plus Points can be spent in the Inn Between, Java
City, and Einstein Bros. Bagels (in the AD building), and in
Schott dining hall to host a guest. These
points must be used by the end of each semester or forfeited.
Q. ARE ANY PROVISIONS MADE FOR STUDENTS
WITH SPECIAL DIETARY NEEDS?
A. If you have specific
dietary needs, please visit the University Dining Services office,
located in the Underground, to speak with a representative.
Q. WHAT ARE FLEX DOLLARS?
A. This is money that can
be deposited in a declining balance account in order to purchase
items at the Inn Between, Java City, Einstein Bros. Bagels or
to bring a guest in to the Schott dining hall. Flex
Dollars do not expire.
Q. WHAT IS CARROLL CA$H?
A. Carroll Ca$h is a separate
fund you can establish to make purchases at various sites on
campus. Currently snack and soda machines, residence hall
laundry machines, and the JCU bookstore are accepting Carroll
Ca$h. You can use it in all campus dining locations after
you have used all your plus points and/or flex dollars.
