Heather began her career at John Carroll in 1994 when she was a live-in Residence Director of Murphy Hall. She received her Master's Degree in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University in 1994 and her undergraduate degree in Human Resource Management from Kent State University in 1991. Heather now oversees all operational aspects of the Office of Residence Life and supervises the Assistant Director, the Housing Coordinator, and the Housing Operations Assistant.

John joined the Office of Residence Life staff in 2004. John received his Bachelors Degree from Bluffton College in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation and his Masters Degree in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University (BGSU). Prior to becoming the assistant director, John served as the Area Coordinator for Dolan, Pacelli, and Sutowski Halls. John's responsibilities include supervising the Area Coordinators, coordinating staff selection and development, and working with the Residential Curriculum.

Marie J. Perri
Housing Coordinator

Marie joined the Office of Residence Life team in September of 1998. Prior to working here at JCU, she worked for University Hospital's UPCP in the area of pediatrics and child psychology. Marie oversees all aspects of our housing process including contracts, occupancy, reports, and the room selection process for international, transfer, freshmen, and continuing students. Marie also supervises the operation of the key security system, is the lead person in converting the department's computer system to SCT Banner and represents the office in dealing with JCU Dining.

Don Fatica
Housing Operations Assistant

Don joined the Office of Residence Life in 2009.  Don received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Cincinnati in Business Administration.  Prior to joining JCU, Don worked in Facilities and Guest Services at the Scioto Country Club in Columbus, Ohio and in sales for International Business Machines in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Don manages the key security system for the eight residence halls at JCU.  As a college student, Don was active in the Interfraternity Council and Senior Class President.

Pat Caruso
Area Coordinator (Murphy Hall)

Pat is the Area Coordinator responsible for the operation and administration of Murphy Hall.  Pat received his Masters Degree in Counseling and Student Development from Kansas State University.  In addition to class work, Pat served as the Assistant Coordinator for Community Development and advised several student groups including the Association of Residence Halls (ARH).  Before attending Kansas State, Pat completed a Bachelors Degree at Marquette University, majoring in German with a minor in Theology.  As a undergraduate at Marquette, Pat was a Resident Assistant for two years as well as the President of the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH). 

Melissa Koenig
Area Coordinator (Bernet, Millor, and Dolan Halls)

Melissa is the Area Coordinator responsible for the operation and administration of Bernet, Millor, and Dolan Halls, as well as the coordination of resident assistant programming, student outreach initiatives, and advising the Residence Hall Association (RHA). As a graduate of Indiana University's Masters Program in Higher Education and Student Affairs, and Ohio University's Family Studies Program, Melissa has worked with students involved in residence life, honors programs, diversity education, alcohol education, academic initiatives, recreational leadership, and judicial affairs. Melissa currently serves as a member of the Race and Ethnicity Committee in GLACUHO and as part of John Carroll's assessment initiative and residential curriculum.

Lisa Lui
Area Coordinator (Pacelli and Sutowski Halls)

Lisa is the Area Coordinator responsible for the operation and administration of Pacelli and Sutowski Halls.  Lisa received her Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies from Wittenberg University in 2007.  While at Wittenberg, she was actively involved in her sorority and the Office of International Education.  After completing her B.A., Lisa entered the Higher Education Administration and Student Personnel program at Kent State University and started a graduate assistantship at Case Western Reserve University as an Assistant Second Year Coordinator in the Office of Housing, Residence Life, and Greek Life.  During her program, she completed three practica with John Carroll University’s Office of Global Education, Kent State University’s International Student and Scholar Services, and Case Western Reserve University’s Office of Greek Life.  She is also an avid international traveler; she has completed two study abroad trips to Japan and Italy and looks forward to her next trip abroad.

Anne Kowalski
Area Coordinator (Hamlin and Campion Halls)

Anne is the Area Coordinator responsible for the operation and administration of Hamlin and Campion Halls. Anne received her Masters Degree in Education with a specialization in Adult Learning and Development from Cleveland State University. During her time at Cleveland State University, Anne completed a graduate assistantship at Case Western Reserve University as an Assistant First Year Coordinator.  She also completed her practicum chairing the Women in Leadership Week committee to help women find their voice in the workplace. Additionally, Anne completed her Bachelor's Degree at Cleveland State University, majoring in Sports Management. As an undergraduate student, Anne held various leadership positions, including Greek Council President, Student Government Senate Member, Chi Delta Epsilon Local Sorority President, Co-Captain of the Women’s Fencing Team, and Resident Assistant.
