Lisa Ramsey is the Director of Student Activities and has been at John Carroll University since August 2004. As Director, Lisa is responsible for the overall programmatic and administrative functions of the Office of Student Activities. In addition, she serves as the main advisor to the Student Union. Lisa obtained her Bachelor's degree at Thiel College and her Master's Degree from Ohio University. Prior to JCU Lisa spent 7½ years as the Assistant Director of Campus Life at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in Edwardsville, IL (just outside of St. Louis). Originally from Ohio, Lisa feels good to be "home" again. She lives in Hudson with her husband, Mike and two boys (high school and school age). Lisa's favorite part of her day in the office is working with students and student leaders to create an engaging and fun campus environment. Stop by to find out how you can be a part of it too!

Ashlee Burrs
Assistant Director of Student Activities

Ashlee Burrs is the Assistant Director of Student Activities, beginning her position in October 2007. Prior to joining JCU in a full-time capacity, she held an internship in the office in the spring of 2007. Ashlee obtained her Bachelor's Degree from Niagara University and her Master's Degree from Kent State University. Ashlee is thrilled to be starting her career here at John Carroll in such an exciting office and working with phenomenal student leaders. Feel free to stop by and introduce yourself!

Janet Paradise

Janet Paradise joined the Office of Student Activities in February 2008 after spending 13 years at Management Recruiters International as a recruiter/project coordinator in the printing and graphic arts field. Prior to working for MRI, she worked at Dillard's (formerly Higbee's) in sales and management at the Beachwood and Downtown stores. She lives in Euclid with her husband, Nick. Her proudest accomplishment is that of being the mother of four boys, all of whom have been educated at St. Ignatius High School. Janet will be glad to assist you with anything relating to the Office of Student Activities, so feel free to stop by and say "hi!"

Erin Grzegorzewski
Graduate Assistant

Erin Grzegorzewski graduated from John Carroll in May of 2007 with a bachelor's degree in Biology. She is currently continuing her studies at John Carroll in the Biology Master's program. She plans to enter dental school upon her completion of her graduate studies. While in undergrad, Erin participated in numerous activities on campus including campus ministry, intramurals, service trips and programming board. She was a member of the Varsity Soccer Team all four years, and also served as the Spring Concert Chair in 2005 and 2006. Erin is from Grand Blanc, MI along with her parents, Larry & Beth, and siblings, Chris and Lauren, and yellow lab, Bailey. Erin loves anything to do with sports; soccer, volleyball, snowboarding, wakeboarding, or just running. When she has spare time you can usually find her involved in athletics or exploring something new! Erin currently serves as the advisor to the Student Union Programming Board (SUPB), which programs events for students every weekend, all year long. She also assists the Director of Student Activities with the planning of Christmas Carroll Eve and the Spring Concert. Erin would love for you to stop by her office in the OSA. She is happy to answer any questions you have about SUPB, JCU, or to just chat!

Joel Mullner
Graduate Assistant

Joel Mullner serves as the Graduate Assistant to the Director of Student Activities. Joel graduated from John Carroll in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree in Management, and is pleased to continue his studies at Carroll in pursuit of a Master's degree in Business Administration. While an undergrad student at JCU, he was very involved in campus life. Among his many activities, Joel chaired the university's homecoming celebration, created the Student Union Mentorship Program, served as the Student Union Vice President for Business Affairs, acted as the student body representative to a number of university committees, and initiated and chaired the first American Cancer Society Relay For Life of John Carroll University. As a graduate assistant, he is responsible for organizing leadership development opportunities on campus, advising student organizations and the Relay For Life, coordinating the Millor Orator selection process, and performing other administrative functions of the OSA. Additionally, Joel is an alumni initiate of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, and serves as the Member Education and Leadership Development Advisor to Beta's JCU Colony. Hailing from Bethel Park, PA, he enjoys golf, music, and website design. Joel looks forward to meeting and working with students and student leaders, and welcomes you to stop by his office anytime!

Brittany Smith

Brittany Smith graduated from Mount Union College in 2008 with a Bachelor's degree in psychology. She is continuing her education in the School Psychology Master's program at John Carroll. While at Mount Union, Brittany was active in Greek Life and held minor offices in Education and Intellectual Development in Alpha Chi Omega. Being very active on Mount Union's campus, Brittany is thrilled to be a graduate assistant in the Office of Student Activities. She looks forward to her main responsibilities that include advising students in Greek Life, planning Senior Week and Celebration, conducting Formal Recruitment, planning Greek Week, involvement with the Panhellenic and Interfraternity Councils, and helping with any other programming. Brittany enjoys dancing, exercising, attending concerts, and spending time with friends and family. She also loves meeting new people, so feel free to stop by her office if you have any questions or just to talk!
