The Student Union Today
Our mission is to ensure a just and united campus community while empowering the student body to live the Jesuit mission of leadership and service.
The Student Union strives to uphold the values and represent the needs of the student body. We welcome every individual's opinion and want students to express their concerns to us. We will gladly listen to you express your opinion about your university. Student Union has a voice and can be heard on nearly all University committees, including the Board of Directors and University Planning Group. We use this representation to better the lives of YOU, the John Carroll students.
The Student Union is comprised of four branches: the Senate, Programming Board, LSO, and Hearing Board, all overseen by a six-member Executive Board. We are structured so that every student on campus is a member of the Student Union.
If you are interested in becoming more involved with your student government, feel free to attend any Senate meeting held every Tuesday at 5:00 PM in Conference Room A of Rodman Hall. Elections for executive board positions and senate seats also take place each November and December.
The Student Union is here to lead and to serve...all while working hard for you!
Student Union Services
The Student Union is working hard to bring you numerous services. The Mentorship Program is an effort to introduce each first-year student to campus life at JCU. The Readership Program offers students the opportunity to read two national newspapers daily. Our Airport Shuttle Service is great for trips home during breaks. And, be sure to take advantage of ConnectJCU.com, an online marketplace, book exchange, review center, and more! Keep your eyes open for other exciting new services!
Student Union Communications
The Communications Division works to produce monthly newsletters, timely press releases, informative brochures, and frequent website updates so that the JCU community is informed of the great work that SU does! Be sure to check your email each month for the Student Union JOURNAL.
