The Vice President for Student Affairs is the administrative leader for the Division of Student Affairs, providing vision and leadership for all areas of student development. The Vice President oversees all functions of the Division and directly supervises the following divisional administrators: the Dean of Students, the Dean for Student Development, the Assistant Vice President for Assessment and Planning in Student Affairs, Assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs, and the Senior Director of Athletics and Recreation.

- Sherri Crahen, Interim Vice President for Student Affairs is pleased to announce that effective June 1, 2008, Dr. Kathleen Lis Dean was promoted to Assistant Vice President for Assessment and Planning in Student Affairs.
Since joining John Carroll in
August 2006, Kathleen has been proactive and has played an
integral part in leading divisional assessment and planning efforts.
As the university moves forward with the campus master plan and planning for the future, the responsibilities of this role will become even more demanding
and critical in helping to determine the best future for student affairs
at JCU. I am grateful for the good and careful work Kathleen does in this role now and look forward to her future contributions.

Dr. Sherri Crahen, Dean of Students, will serve as interim vice president for student affairs until
a permanent replacement is hired.
It is anticipated the new vice president will start August 2008.
