| IGNATIAN FAMILY TEACH-IN & ANNUAL VIGIL TO CLOSE THE SCHOOL OF THE AMERICAS - VIEW/LISTEN! |
| Friday, November 16th - Sunday, November 18th ~ Columbus, Georgia |

Join other JCU community members concerned with human rights in Latin America to call for a close to the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation (formerly known as the School of the Americas). The JCU group will travel to Columbus, Georgia to participate in the Ignatian Family Teach-In, a educational workshop for students from Jesuit high schools and universities, and then to protest the presence the U.S. tax-payer funded training school in western Georgia. The Latin American graduates of the U.S. tax-payer funded school have been associated with hundreds of human rights abuses in their home countries. SOA Watch, led by Fr. Roy Bourgeois has been advocating for the school's closure since 1989 when six Jesuit priests, their housekeeper, and her daughter were assassinated at the Jesuit University in El Salvador. |
