FATIMA FOOD DRIVE 2008
11/22/08 - 100+ families benefited again this fall from JCU's Fatima Food Drive. The six week drive was organized by John Carroll's Arrupe Scholars for Social Action who facilitated on-campus and off-campus collections throughout the months of October and November. In addition, more than 50 other JCU students volunteered to sort, package, and deliver food to families connected with Cleveland's Fatima Family Center. Families received a box of food to last them 1 week and a Thanksgiving turkey The project also received support from JCU's Footprints for Fatima 5K Run and 1 Mile walk which brought together 150+ runners and walkers on a beautiful September day.
The Arrupe Scholars are grateful for the support of JCU Dining - Aramark Dining Services for the donation of 100 turkeys for each of the families and the Katzenberg Team for the use of a moving truck on delivery day.
