Deadlines:

The registration deadline is rolling; however, this event typically sells out. If space remains, we will accept registration through Wednesday, February 1, 2012. Registrations made after Monday, January 30, 2012 will be assessed a late fee and will not be included in the Career Fair program.

Payment must be received to complete registration. Because this event typically sells out, your space will not be reserved if we do not receive your payment and your space will be given to the next paid registrant. (Sponsorship level registrations sell out quickly - they will not be reserved if you have not paid.) Payment must be received prior to the Career Fair on Thursday, February 2, 2012 in order for your organization to participate. Cancellations will be accepted prior to January 26, 2012. After that date, you will not receive a refund on your payment. Please contact Rosemary Oldenburg, 216-397-4432, with any payment concerns.

Display Size:

If your organization has a display larger than the size of a table top, please contact Barb Koeth at bkoeth@jcu.edu as soon as possible. During registration you will be able to provide your preference for location. While there is no guarantee that you will be given that area (outside of Blue and Gold sponsors, who are guaranteed certain locations), requests will be taken in order of registration date. Keep in mind that registration is not complete until payment is made.

Electrical Access:

Electrical access is available at the Career Fair to a limited number of organizations in a first-come-first-served availability. You need to indicate your desire for electrical access in your registration under the fee section. There is, however, no actual fee associated.

John Carroll University is set up for wireless internet. More information will be available to our attendees on this service at a later date.

Taking advantage of the Career Fair:

There are many things you can do to take advantage of your Career Fair experience. If you are recruiting for full-time entry-level or internship positions, you can set up an on campus interviewing date following the Career Fair. You can then use the Career Fair to promote that and fill your schedule. Barb Koeth, Employer Relations, will work with you on that. See the next FAQ for more information.

Another very important tool for success is to bring John Carroll University alumni with you to represent your organization. Some folks even bring current students who are interns with their organization. Alumni get special ribbons (please designate alumni attendees in the appropriate section during registration) and really stand out.

When registering, you have the opportunity to upload your organization logo - this is a great eye-catcher for students scrolling through the attending organization list.

Actually including the job titles for which you are seeking candidates will ensure that the right JCU students and alumni find you at the Career Fair.

Also, students let us know that the display you use (eye-appealing) can help, but more important is your personal energy. Students are more likely to approach you if you seem approachable - spend some time standing in front or near your display - instead of sitting the whole time. Students have mentioned that really interesting giveaways are great, but candy works, too!
